This was the second episode of season two. Unfortunately for Cordelia, her head was high on the list of choices to finish off their creepy science experiment. Chris' brother Daryl, a high school football star, had died rock climbing. Chris had somehow brought him back to life, and wanted to make him a companion. Buffy saved the day, of course, and Daryl and the body of the female experiment went up in flames. Angelo Spizzirri, who played Chris, died in 2007.

Answer: Inca Mummy Girl

This is the second episode where Xander falls for someone who isn't quite human. The Inca princess took over the identity of Buffy's male foreign exchange student (Ampata Gutierrez) in order to be alive once more. The person would be drained of their life force when she kissed them. She even killed the bodyguard assigned to keep her mummified. Ara Celi played the mummy.

Answer: Halloween

Willow pretty much saved the day on this one, when she (in ghost form) went to Giles in the school library to report the problem. The problem turned out to be Ethan Rayne, his first appearance of four, who worshiped Chaos and turned everyone into their costumes. Cordy was spared, as she bought her costume at Party Town instead of Ethan's Costume Shop.

This was our first glimpse into Giles' dark side. Robin Sachs played Ethan.

Answer: School Hard

This was the third episode of season two, and introduced us to Spike and Drusilla. Buffy was trying to pull off her appointed role as the organizer of drinks and signage for Snyder, so he wouldn't report her behavior to her mom on Parent Teacher Night. Joyce was won over by Buffy's ability to take care of everyone when Spike attacked the school. Spike killed the Anointed One at the end of the episode.

Answer: Ted

John Ritter guest starred as Ted, who was a robot built by the human Ted. Buffy was suspicious of Ted from the start, when she caught him with her mother in their kitchen. Ted was a great cook, but laced his baked goods with a drug that made people happy.

He planned to kidnap Joyce and hide her away in a bunker for the rest of her life. Joyce did not find out that Ted was a robot, but both she and Dawn referenced Ted as being a robot specifically in season five. I always assumed the monks did not know that Joyce was unaware, and when they reprogrammed the memories, Ted's robot status was made permanent knowledge.

After hearing about attacks, and waking up in the wrong place, Oz called his aunt and finds out Jordy is a werewolf. He tried to hide it from everyone, but Willow found out when Oz turned in front of her. They ended up staving off a werewolf hunter named Cain, and Oz would go on to cage himself for the wolf nights. Jack Conley played Cain. He'd go on to play the demon Sahjhan on "Angel".

Answer: Innocence

Buffy and Angel made love after dealing with the Judge, fully assembled and ready to burn the righteous. This one moment of perfect happiness stripped Angel of his soul, as per the curse, and Angelus returned to wreak havoc once more. Brian Thompson played the Judge. He'd played Luke, the Master's vessel, in season one.

Answer: Becoming

Willow was able to restore Angel's soul just as it seemed Buffy was going to cut his head off with the sword. They shared a sad and tender moment instead, and she had him close his eyes. Then she stabbed him through, and he was sucked into the Hell dimension, which saved the world. Acathla, a demon which had reportedly turned to stone when impaled by the sword the first time, remained stone.

It seemed to me as though the demon would have returned to its original form after Angelus removed the sword, but it never happened.

Answer: Passion

Giles and Jenny were starting to get back on track after her betrayal of the group. So, Angelus decided to leave Giles the gift of her dead body in his bed. She had finally translated the Gypsy curse from Romanian into English, and Angelus killed her before she could restore his soul. Robia LaMorte played Jenny Calendar, their computer science teacher.

Answer: Bothered and Bewildered

Xander was starting to take their romantic liaisons seriously and bought Cordy a necklace for Valentine's Day. After she broke up with him, he took back the necklace and had Amy do a love spell with it. It backfired, having NO effect on Cordy, but making every other female he encountered want him desperately.

This even applied to Drusilla, thankfully, because she saved Xander from Angelus. After the ordeal was over, Cordy and Xander rekindled their romance.
