Answer: That '70s Show

This is the first season Christmas episode of "That '70s Show", entitled "That '70s Christmas". Red allows Eric to have a Christmas party in the basement with his friends, and gives him $40 to buy a Christmas tree for the house. He says the kids can keep whatever money is leftover for their party. Naturally they decide to spend nothing on a tree, and chop one down on the side of the highway. Kitty loves the tree, but during the grown-ups Christmas party, the cops show up and say they have to take back the stolen tree.

Red is working at Donna's father's store, and is made to work on Christmas Eve in case anyone is out shopping for last minute presents. Turns out, Kelso is - he has neglected to buy a gift for Jackie. Kelso ends up keeping Red company at work as they play Pong. Red ends up selling two items that night - hot rollers to Kelso, and the Pong game to himself.

Answer: Roseanne

In the season five Christmas episode of "Roseanne", "It's No Place Like Home for the Holidays", there is a major snowstorm keeping the Conner family apart on Christmas Eve. Roseanne and Jackie get stuck at their restaurant, the Lunch Box, with their mom and their Nana Mary. When Nana Mary falls asleep, they decorate her as if she's a Christmas tree.

Darlene is at David's house, and though they fight, she starts to feel bad for him when his mother comes home drunk and yells at him for no reason, bringing him to tears. Back at the Conner house, Dan and DJ try to make dinner and Dan is uncomfortable with Nancy and Marla, same-sex lovers, around.

Answer: The Office

In the season two episode "Christmas Party", the Dunder Mifflin gang have a Secret Santa exchange. Jim is thrilled that he has Pam's name and puts together a really personal, special teapot filled with smaller items for her. Michael buys an iPod for Ryan, going way over the $20 limit. When Michael is disappointed with the gift he receives from Phyllis, he turns the exchange into Yankee Swap, where everyone can choose to open a gift or steal one from someone else. Of course the iPod becomes the item everyone wants. Pam ends up with the iPod in the end but decides to swap it for her teapot to show Jim she appreciates the effort.

In order to turn the party back around, Michael buys a lot of booze for his staff. Meredith, the office drunk, ends up exposing herself to Michael.

Answer: Family Guy

"A Very Special Family Guy Freakin' Christmas" is a third season episode of "Family Guy". Stewie agrees to be Jesus to get on Santa's good side; he wants plutonium for Christmas. Peter is supposed to drop off one gift for charity, but he only half-listens to his instructions and accidentally gives away all the gifts for the kids. When Peter and Lois have to shop for the kids again, Peter gets into a situation with an old lady at the mall over hair barrettes.

While they're out shopping, Brian is at home to tend to the turkey in the oven. A fire breaks out in the living room and by the time Brian can get it under control, a big mess is made. Lois is surprisingly still cheerful, but completely loses it when she's informed there's no paper towel to clean up the mess. She goes on a rampage and tells her family how hard she works to give them a good holiday; in the end, she's sedated for Christmas and everyone else gets what they want.

Answer: Friends

This episode is "The One With the Holiday Armadillo" from season seven of "Friends". All Ross can get at the last minute is an armadillo costume, so that's what he dresses up as and tells Ben he's the Holiday Armadillo, Santa's representative for all the southern states and Mexico. Surprisingly, Ross also begins to engage Ben in learning about Hanukkah while dressed as the Holiday Armadillo - until Chandler comes in dressed as Santa. Ben is then more excited to see him, but Santa tells Ben they all should learn about Hanukkah. Joey also comes in dressed as Superman.

In the episode's sub plot, Rachel and Phoebe's apartment is ready for them to move back into after the fire occurred. Phoebe is worried that Rachel likes living with Joey too much and won't want to live with her again, so she starts buying things for Joey that she thinks will drive Rachel away. This includes a drum set and a tarantula. Phoebe's plan backfires and Rachel loves everything (while Joey is terrified of the tarantula). Rachel tells Phoebe she's definitely going to move back in with her, but when it's discovered that the apartment has been re-converted into the one-bedroom unit it's supposed to be, the girls decide that Rachel will keep living with Joey; Phoebe is okay with it when she sees the size of the bedroom she has now.

Answer: The Brady Bunch

This is the basic plot of the 1988 TV reunion movie "A Very Brady Christmas". All of the original Brady actors and actresses from the TV series reprise their roles, except for Susan Olsen who played Cindy Brady in the TV series; Jennifer Runyon plays the role of Cindy in the Christmas special.

Brady parents Mike and Carol decide to spend their vacation fund on bringing all their kids (now grown adults) home for Christmas. In various subplots, each of the Brady kids are struggling with issues in their lives, such as job loss and divorce. Alice, former housekeeper, ends up back at the Brady house because her husband Sam has left her. In an inexplicable miracle at the end, Mike Brady is trapped in rubble at a collapsed construction site and is somehow able to free himself when Carol and the kids start singing "O Come All Ye Faithful".

Answer: Seinfeld

This is the most overtly 'Christmas-y' of the "Seinfeld" episodes that are considered to be Christmas episodes, and yet it's most remembered for Festivus. It is from season nine.

At Tim Whatley's party, the guests all receive a card that says that Tim has made a donation in their name to a children's charity. This gives George an idea - he makes up The Human Fund and tells all his coworkers that he has donated to it in their names as a Christmas gift. This plan goes wrong when his boss gives him a $20,000 donation for The Human Fund on behalf of the whole company. When the boss finds out it's a fake charity, George tells him he lied because he didn't want to be ridiculed for celebrating Festivus.

Festivus, which occurs on December 23, is a holiday "for the rest of us" that George's family celebrated instead of Christmas. In this episode, his father Frank revives the Festivus traditions when Kramer contacts him to learn more about the holiday. It involves elements such as the airing of grievances and the "feats of strength" - someone has to pin someone else to the ground. George's boss attends the Festivus celebration to ensure that George is not lying about its existence.

Answer: Golden Girls

This is "'Twas the Nightmare Before Christmas" from the show's second season. All four ladies are going home for Christmas but Rose has to work at the crisis counselling centre on the morning of Christmas Eve. The other girls come to pick her up to head to the airport when a man dressed as Santa comes in with a gun and holds everyone at the centre hostage. He says he is doing it because he wants to spend Christmas with some nice people instead of alone.

Blanche is initially attracted to him because of his Santa outfit; at the beginning of the episode, she has another Santa at home that she'd picked up but Rose is appalled that Santa would engage in an affair and throws him out of the house.

Answer: Two and a Half Men

This episode is "Walnuts and Demerol" from season four of "Two and a Half Men". Charlie has plans for Christmas with the beautiful Gloria, but when Evelyn sees who Charlie's date is, she forbids Charlie from sleeping with her. Charlie of course has no plans to listen to his mother, until it comes out that Gloria could possibly be Charlie's half-sister. Evelyn recognizes her as the daughter of a couple she and Charlie's father used to swing with, and it's possible that Charlie's father is Gloria's father too.

Alan's ex-wife Judith and her then-fiance Herb come over to pick up Jake and end up staying for a drink. A party forms against Charlie's wishes. When Alan's second ex-wife Kandi shows up because she has no one else to spend Christmas with, Judith is not happy but Herb is very happy; he finds Kandi very enticing. Not supervised by the adults, young Jake ends up drunk on eggnog.

Answer: Community

This is a first season episode of "Community", called "Comparative Religion". Shirley is a religious woman in a group of community college friends who study together (amongst other things) and wants to have a proper, religious Christmas party. The rest of the group reveals that they do not share her religious background; the group includes a Jewish girl, a Muslim guy, an atheist and a Jehovah's Witness who does not celebrate Christmas. In the end, they come together and celebrate as a group anyway.

Most episodes of "Community" have a Troy and Abed bit at the end. In this episode's, Abed (later with Jeff's help) decorates Troy as if he's a Christmas tree; he even sings "O Christmas Troy".
