Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Continuing in Peru during the eleventh leg of the race, teams had to return to Trujillo to find a clue on a mosaic. What were they given to locate it?

Answer: Magnifying glass

To begin their penultimate leg, teams needed to make their way out of the Andes (starting in Otuzco) and back to the city of Trujillo on the Pacific Coast. There, teams needed to take their cabs to the Universidad Nacional de Trujillo and South America's largest mosaic where a clown would give them a magnifying glass and a reference picture. Searching the ten foot high, two mile long wall of thirty million tiles, they had to use the provided image to find a small race flag coloured sticker and deliver that to the clown to get their next clue.
2. How many teams completed the 'Shake Your Hips' Detour option in Peru in Leg 11?

Answer: Two

Completing their mosaic search task upon arriving in Trujillo, teams had the opportunity to engage with the final Detour task of the race. The first of these options was the race's third dance challenge and perhaps the one most reliant on their attitude. Though teams had to get the steps right for 'Shake Your Hips', they also had to evoke the rhythm, flavour, and flair of the colourful traditional Peruvian dance known as the marinera. Once they had it all down, they could get their next clue. Jelani and Jenny and Mike and Rochelle opted for this task.
3. During the 'Make Some Bricks' Detour task in Leg 11 (in Peru), teams had to work with what quantity of adobe bricks?

Answer: Twelve

Anyone not taking changes with their dance skills for Leg 11's Detour could instead take the manual labour route with 'Make Some Bricks' for which they had to take a cab to the Chan Chan archaeological site and help preserve local adobe brick structures making twelve bricks using a local method. Once they completed a dozen properly formed bricks and had them approved by a foreman, they could wheelbarrow a dozen heavy, dry bricks across the grounds to the worksite (in the hot sun) to get their next clue. Hayley and Blair and Laura and Tyler got dirty with this one.
4. During the final task of Leg 11, a Road Block, team members had to head out into the waters off the Peruvian coast on which of these?

Answer: A paddleboat

After their respective Detour tasks, teams had to make their way by taxi to an intersection, beachside, in the town of Huanchaco. There, both members were required to bring a heavy bundled reed boat and bamboo paddle to the waterfront and one person needed to be selected (for the Road Block) to ride the boat out into the surf to collect a clue waiting on a marked buoy. If they could stay properly balanced and make the trip, they could reunite with their partner on the shore. Blair and Jelani chose to complete the task while Laura and Rochelle had to participate to even out the Road Block counts going into the final leg.
5. Which team was last to arrive at the race's final Pit Stop in Huanchaco, Peru?

Answer: Mike and Rochelle

Completing the Road Block, teams were told to proceed on foot to the top of the city of Huanchaco where they would find their final Pit Stop at the 16th century Church of Virgen del Socorro. Hayley and Blair won their second leg in a row and their third of the race, claiming themselves a trip for two to India courtesy of Travelocity.

The catch that they and the three other teams (including last place Mike and Rochelle) were told to keep on racing as they would be proceeding directly into the final leg back in the United States.

They were also notified by Phil that someone would be eliminated before the end of the race.
6. What was the final destination city of "The Amazing Race 26"?

Answer: Dallas

Leaving Peru immediately, teams had to hop on a flight from Trujillo to Lima and then onward to Dallas, Texas, three thousand miles north and back into the United States to wrap up the race.
Upon landing, teams had to hop into cabs at the airport and head directly to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas where they would be able to locate the cluebox somewhere on the property. It turned out to be in the parking lot out front.
7. What did team members need to locate to complete the first Road Block in Leg 12?

Answer: Playbook

Arriving at AT&T Stadium, teams needed to choose one person to score from each pairing, and with that, all five male contestants donned gear and uniforms and hit the gridiron. First, the participants had to strap in and be sent to the top of the stadium in a harness to grab a playbook.
After taking the three hundred foot ride up, they descended to the field to catch a touchdown pass before kicking a field goal to receive their next clue. Mike, Tyler, Jelani, and Blair participated in this task.
8. Which team was eliminated midway through the final leg of the race?

Answer: Mike and Rochelle

After the first Road Block, teams needed to take a taxi to the P2 Ranch in Burleston, Texas to get to their next route marker. There, they had to dress up in cowboy garb and work at the ranch. Once they helped corral six longhorns in a cattle drive, a task completed entirely on horseback, they could carry on racing.

In a twist, only the first three teams to arrive were able to complete the task. Mike and Rochelle, who arrived last, were unable to participate since all of the cattle had been herded by the time they arrived.

As such, they were eliminated in fourth and sent directly to the finish line.
9. The final Road Block eventually led teams into a memory challenge that involved which of these critical elements of this race?

Answer: Photographs

After the cattle drive, the final three teams raced back into Dallas, finding a second Road Block task outside Reunion Tower and there, Hayley, Jenny, and Laura had to rappel from the top of the tower and, en route to the bottom, spot red and yellow flags somewhere on the horizon (they were on the edge of the Trinity River, near some railroad tracks).

There, both team members could work together to ride a monster truck to this race's memory challenge (leg numbers used to unlock a numerical lock) and then use the selifes they took throughout the race to solve a puzzle for their final clue.
10. Which team won "The Amazing Race 26"?

Answer: Laura and Tyler

Upon completing their selfie challenge, teams were handed their final clue of the race instructing them to travel by cab and then on foot to the Continental Avenue Bridge where they would be able to cross the finish line after more than fifty-six thousand kilometers of travel (in one of the show's longest routes around the globe).

This season, Laura and Tyler eked out the win in the final tasks, crossing the line to win the million dollar prize. They were followed by Jelani and Jenny in second and Hayley and Blair in third making a top three of all blind date teams.
