"The Amazing Race Canada 3" [1] Quiz

Answer: Quebec

Twelve teams began this third Canadian version of "The Amazing Race" atop the Dufferin Terrace in front of Quebec City's Chateau Frontenac, Old Quebec's most famous landmark. Here, they all received their first clues directing them to travel on foot through Old Quebec to Quai 22 at the Port of Quebec.

There, they needed to use a combination found in their clue to unlock two of the hundreds of bicycles locked to the racks found there. When done, they could ride themselves to the ferry, cross the river to Levis, and receive tickets to their first destination inside the Chevrolet Sonic RS vehicles they would need to drive to the airport.

Answer: Toronto

Arriving in Toronto at night, teams needed to wait until morning to complete their first task at the St. Lawrence Market, where they needed to use their brains to unscramble two street names found within the building-- Market Street and Center Street-- and use that information to find the butchery at that intersection inside.

This would send them to their taxis, and across town, to their next clue 9 Channel Nine Court.

Answer: Sports

Arriving at the TSN Studios, teams found their first Road Block task, requiring that one member of each 'feel sporty'. Inside, the chosen team members needed to dress in formal wear and sit behind the news desk with James Duthie to properly recite the story presented to them on the teleprompter (complete with extremely difficult names). Once they followed the camera to the proper cues and recited their lines properly, they would be able to receive their next clue. Jesse, Susan, Simi, Dujean, Brian, Nic, Neil, Elias, Dana, Hamilton, Matt, and Brent got this one done.

Answer: An obstacle course

Leaving TSN Studios, teams were told to take a taxi to Atlantis at Ontario Place where the team member who didn't do the sportscast needed to prove their sportiness in a physical challenge. For this one, they had to complete a three-part obstacle course beginning with a 120ft. rope wall, continuing with a three storey drop into the waters of Lake Ontario, and ending with a 20ft. log-roll balance challenge. Gino, Sabrina, Ope, Sean, Michaelia, Cynthia, Leilani, Nick, Amanda, Kristin, Sharnjit, and Elias finished this task.

Answer: Max and Elias

In the end of this leg of the race, teams needed to race along the lakeshore (by taxi) to the Air Canada Center where the last team to make it to center court on the Raptors' home turf would be eliminated from the race. Gino and Jesse maintained their lead through the entire leg of the race and, as such, hit the Pit Stop in first place, winning themselves two tickets to Rio de Janeiro courtesy of Air Canada as well as a points package from Petro-Canada consisting of six months of free gas.

In the end, Max and Elias, Toronto-natives, were unable to pull out of last place after the first Road Block and they were eliminated.

Answer: Santiago

In the beginning of Leg 2, teams were brought to Canoe Landing Park near Old Fort York in Toronto to open their clues. There, they learned that they would need to travel nearly nine thousand kilometers southward to Santiago, the capital city of South America. Upon landing they needed to hop into taxis and travel to the Parque Geoaventura in Puento Alto to search for their next clue.

Answer: Paraglide

Arriving at Parque Geoaventura in Chile, teams were asked 'Who wants a better view?'. After traveling up the mountain, one member of each team needed to leap off the side of the cliffs with an instructor and tandem paraglide to their partner at the bottom.

When they touched on the ground, they would receive their next clue. Matt, Leilani, Nic, Brian, Michaelia, Gino, Kristin, Susan, Simi, Sean, and Amanda completed this task. After this, teams had to head to the San Miguel Open-air Museum in Santiago to find their next task, requiring that they use cameras to take selfies in front of five specific murals found throughout the city streets in a ten block radius.

Their next clue would come in the form of a wooden case directing them to Centro Cultural Angela Davis in Recoleta.

Answer: Hamilton and Michaelia

Arriving at Centro Cultural Angela Davis, teams found that their cases contained art supplies for children, and the second part of their task required that they volunteer to help complete a painted mural. When this was done they received a Detour task as well as an option to pursue the Express Passes available for this race; all they needed to do was reach the two people dancing at Barrio Bellavista. Hamilton and Michaelia were the first to arrive, claiming one pass for themselves and one to give to another team.

Answer: 'Motion'

Teams not pursuing the Express Passes headed directly to the Detour. In this, teams could choose either 'Motion' or 'Emotion'. In 'Motion', teams headed to the Plaza de Armas and dressed up in traditional Rapa Nui outfits to perform a dance. In 'Emotion', teams instead had to memorize a Spanish poem and recite it to local poets at the Biblioteca Nacional de Chile. Only Nic and Sabrina completed the latter task while Hamilton and Michaelia didn't complete either; they used their Express Pass as fast as was possible to jet past the 'Motion' task.

Answer: Susan and Sharnjit

Completing the Detour task (or not), teams ended up being told to head to their second Pit Stop of the race: the top of Cerro San Cristobal overlooking the Chilean capital from atop the Jardín Botánico Mapulemu. Hamilton and Michaelia ended up arriving in first, long before all other teams, because they used the Express Pass to complete the Detour early on. For their troubles, they won two tickets to Delhi, India courtesy of Air Canada and a half year of free gas from Petro-Canada.

In the end, Susan and Sharnjit were unable to pull out of eleventh place and overtake Gino and Jesse.

They were eliminated.
