Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The first leg of "The Amazing Race Canada 6" commenced in what province?

Answer: British Columbia

Off the coast of Vancouver Island, ten teams tandem-biked to the starting line of "The Amazing Race Canada 6" at Hatley Castle on the grounds of Royal Roads University. Here, after giving the spiel about what was at stake for the winner of "The Amazing Race Canada", Jon Montgomery informed the teams that their first clue would be with their backpacks somewhere on the castle grounds, and after giving the go ahead, all of them set off, searching and tearing open their Route Info clues instructing them to take the ferry to the mainland and drive to Squamish, British Columbia.
2. The first Road Block of the race, found in Leg 1, required that team members make a leap for which plush animal?

Answer: Beaver

Arriving at Tsawwassen Terminal in Squamish, teams needed to drive themselves north to the Sea to Sky Gondola and then ride it 850m to the top of the mountain to receive their next clue. This turned out to be a Road Block task, and it asked teams 'Who wants to save a beaver?' For this task, one team member had to retrieve a plush beaver, but to do that they had to head out to a net suspended between the nearby cliffs (via zipline) and perform a heart-stopping bungee swing, 500m over the canyon below. If anyone missed the beaver, they would need to jump again, but only after going to the back of the line. Chewy, Nancy, Leanne, Todd, Taylor, Phil, Adam, Akash, Dylan, and Monica chose to be beaver heroes.
3. The second Road Block of the first leg of the race engaged teams with an activity relating to what Canadian industry?

Answer: Logging

After the Road Block high above Squamish, teams needed to drive themselves to the Squamish Days Loggers Sports Festival. There, teams found the second Road Block task to be featured in this first leg. In this task, the racer who did not complete the first Road Block was required to complete the second. For this, they needed to use all of their might and the equipment provided to climb an eighty-foot vertical pole as part of the festival. Mellisa, Mar, Courtney, Anna, Martina, Kwame, Happy, Joseph, Zainab, and Courtney collected their clue at the very top.
4. In the first leg of the race, teams needed to ride paddleboards and search for which of these trapped animals underwater?

Answer: Crab

After the second Road Block, teams needed to drive themselves to Darrell Bay to search for their next clue box, and inside they found a Route Info clue. For this task, teams needed to grab a tandem paddleboard and go out crabbing in the bay, searching amongst the twenty buoys offshore and pulling up crab traps containing live specimens. If they caught a big enough crab, they would be able to collect their next clue back at shore and continue racing.
5. Which team was eliminated at the end of the first leg of the race?

Answer: Chewy and Happy

After catching the crabs at Darrell Bay, teams received a clue and were told to drive themselves to the Britannia Mine Museum. There, they had to search through the grounds for Mill #3 and, inside, they would find Jon at the first Pit Stop of the race.

At the end of the leg, Argos cheerleaders Leanne and Mar overtook Nancy and Mellisa to become the first team to step on the mat, and in doing so they won a trip for two to Tokyo, Japan. The last five teams raced out of Darrell Bay at the same time, leading to an intense footrace at the Mine Museum.

In the end, Chewy and Happy were last to step on the mat and were the first team eliminated from the race.
6. In Leg 2, teams flew to the Yukon Territory to complete tasks in what location?

Answer: Dawson City

In the second leg of the race, nine teams departed from Squmish, B.C. and headed to the airport to fly to the gold rush city of Dawson City, Yukon. There, teams would be racing in the northernmost location "The Amazing Race Canada" had ever visited. Heading out from the first Pit Stop, teams were also told that in this leg of the race, there would be three separate Express Passes that could be claimed. All nine teams took the same flight to Dawson City, leaving from Vancouver and connecting through Whitehorse, before claiming their next clue from their Chevrolet Silverado vehicles at the airport.
7. In Leg 2 in the Yukon, teams could win money by doing which of the following?

Answer: Building a campsite

In Dawson City, teams' first clue told them that they needed to lead up their Silverado vehicles with Woods camping gear, then drive the items to dredge #4 national historic site to set up a complete Klondike campsite. If they could complete this task in the fastest time, they would also receive a $5,000 prize from race sponsor Woods. The sponsor task ended up being won by Todd and Anna, who received the money at the Pit Stop once all of the times were tallied.
After this task, teams drove to the Bank of British North America to find their next clue outside.
8. Which team did not collect an Express Pass in Leg 2?

Answer: Courtney and Adam

Arriving at the Bank in Downtown Dawson City, teams needed to take part in a modern-day gold rush, using a geocaching GPS device to search nine landmarks in the city and collecting gold coins at five of them. As an added bonus, three of the landmarks without coins would also feature Express Passes-- Nancy and Mellisa, Todd and Anna, and Leanne and Mar found these, allowing them to skip any task of their choice at some point during the race.

After returning their five coins to the bank, they could collect their next clue.
9. Which Detour task was completed by the most teams in the Yukon in Leg 2?

Answer: 'Chance'

After the gold rush task, teams found their first Detour of the race, a choice between 'Chance' and 'Dance'. In 'Dance', teams headed to the Palace Grand Theatre to learn how to perform the authentic can-can in sassy burlesque costumes. If they could perfectly replicate the choreography, they could collect their next clue.

In 'Chance', teams needed to go to Diamond Tooth Gertie's Gambling Hall and take on the role of blackjack dealer. If they could deal out a round for themselves and five players and pay out properly, they could continue on. 'Dance' was completed by Leanne and Mar and Taylor and Courtney. 'Chance' was done by Todd and Anna, Nancy and Mellisa, Courtney and Adam, Dylan and Kwame, Martina and Phil, Joseph and Akash, and Zainab and Monica.
10. Which team was last to arrive at the Pit Stop in the Yukon in Leg 2?

Answer: Zainab and Monica

After the Detour in Dawson City, teams were told to drive themselves up to the top of Midnight Dome overlooking the nearby town to search for Jon and the next Pit Stop. Todd and Anna, for staying at the front of the pack during the entirety of this second leg of the race, they placed first and won a trip for two to the south of France.

They also ended up winning an Express Pass and the $5,000 prize from Woods. Backing out of the 'Dance' challenge and feeling the stress of the 'Chance' challenge ended up being Zainab and Monica's undoing; they ended up placing ninth overall but were spared by a non-elimination leg and told that they would face a Speed Bump in the next leg.
