Leaving Jakarta at the start of Leg 5, teams departed in the middle of the night and flew (via Tokyo, Japan) to Toronto Pearson International Airport in Mississauga, Ontario. Upon arriving, teams would locate their next clue in the 2018 Chevrolet Equinoxes parked at the terminal. Finding this, they were told to drive themselves to the plant where their vehicles were made-- the Cami Automotive Assembly Plant in Ingersoll, Ontario. Teams had to avoid driving to Oshawa and St. Catherines, home to other Chevrolet plants, to sign up for entry at the plant the next morning at which point they would learn how to assemble the front door of the vehicle to get their next clue.

Answer: Martina

Following the task at Cami, teams were given a clue sending them to Stratford, Ontario where they had to search outside the Stratford Festival Theatre to locate their next clue. This ended up being the Road Block for this leg of the race and it asked teams for 'who wants a fighting chance'.

In this task, the selected team member needed to dress in period costumes and work with a fight director to learn an intricate stage-fight sequence to perform onstage. If they could properly perform the fight they could get their next clue. Phil, both Courtneys, Kwame, Mellisa, Zainab, and Mar completed this task.

Answer: Paddleboat

Immediately after the Road Block, teams were handed their Detour clue for the fifth leg of the race. In 'Pedal', teams headed to the Avon River in Stratford, Ontario where, using a paddleboat, they collected six emoji puzzle pieces scattered along the water's edges.

When they returned to shore they could properly assemble their puzzle pieces to identify their next destination: Queen of the Square. Taylor and Courtney, Nancy and Mellisa, Dylan and Kwame, and Leanne and Mar completed this task

Answer: Candies

In the 'Package' Detour task, teams instead had to head to Rheo Thompson Candies in Stratford. There, they had to correctly package ten boxes of assorted Mint Smoothies and ten boxes of assorted Fruit Jellies, properly laying out the contents and then dressing the sealed boxes with the proper accoutrements to collect their next clue. Martina and Phil, Courtney and Adam, and Zainab and Monica completed this challenge, receiving nothing in their clue envelopes except the words 'Queen of the Square'.

Answer: Zainab and Monica

After the Detour, teams headed to Queen of the Square-- Stratford City Hall-- to find Jon and the fifth Pit Stop mat inside. Most teams, upon discovering this, had to return to their vehicles to grab their backpacks to check in. Taylor and Courtney were the first team to arrive following a quick trip down the Avon, winning a trip for two to London, England for their efforts.

At the end of the leg, Zainab and Monica were the last to arrive at the mat, but they discovered that the leg wasn't over; Jon handed them a clue sending them to Toronto.

Answer: Yonge-Dundas Square

After the non-Pit Stop in Stratford, teams were told to drive to Toronto via Highway 401 and make their way to City Hall in Nathan Phillips Square (in the downtown core). Once there, the teams needed to ascend to the observation deck and search the 27th balconies to spot their next clue waiting at Yonge-Dundas Square.

This ended up being a Road Block, and the participating team members (Taylor, Martina, Nancy, Mar, Dylan, Adam, and Monica) had to fill 2018 Chevrolet Sparks with a series of urban essentials before precisely reversing the spark on a marked course using the vehicle's rear-view camera.

After this, their On-Star rep would give them their clue.

After the Road Block, teams were told to make their way exclusively by TTC (the Toronto subway system) to the Monkey's Paw bookshop in Bloor West Village where they could collect their next clue from the Biblio-Mat Book Dispensing Machine. Here, teams also located the Double U-Turn before collecting a small Detour clue. Only Courtney and Adam decided to use this U-Turn to give themselves a buffer near the back of the pack.

They ended up forcing Zainab and Monica to do both sides of the Detour as a result. No one else was targeted.

Answer: Vogueing

At the Monkey's Paw, teams chose their Detour option, a choice between 'Walk the Part' and 'Latte Art'. In 'Walk the Part', teams traveled to El Convento Rico in Little Italy where they had to dress up and learn a vogue dance routine. Once performed correctly, they could continue on. Taylor and Courtney, Nancy and Mellisa, Dylan and Kwame, Leanne and Mar, and Courtney and Adam all chose this task.

In 'Latte Art', teams headed to Versus Coffee near the Financial District. After watching a demo they had to become baristas to make the perfect latte foam.

Then, adding colouring, they had to make two perfect artisanal lattes. Martina and Phil did this task. Zainab and Monica chose the former task first, but completed both.

Answer: Food bank

After the Detour, teams took taxis to the North York Harvest Food Bank. There, they were required to join with Dempster's Bakery. After selecting an order form containing the specific numbers of bread to be packaged and shipped to local community groups, they had to properly portion out the orders and prepare them for distribution. Once the specific numbers were accounted for they could have them counted and they could continue racing into the night.

After the food bank task, teams headed back across the City of Toronto to the Pit Stop at Ireland Park on the Toronto waterfront. Taylor and Courtney were once again the first to arrive (for the third time this race) and they ended up winning a trip for two to Hong Kong for their troubles.

They also won themselves $5,000 to donate to a food bank in their local community. After facing off against the Double U-Turn board, Zainab and Monica were once again unable to pull out of last place. Unfortunately, this time, they were eliminated for it.
