In the beginning of the episode, Jerry is shopping for a new couch and George tells him that he's joined a book club. Jerry finally picks out a white couch, and he tells Elaine that he likes it because it doesn't fold out and he won't need to have people over to sleep on it. He gives his old couch to Elaine.

When the moving men deliver Jerry's couch, Elaine asks one of them to drive the old couch to her apartment. When they deliver it, she ends up planning a date with one of them. She tells this to Jerry when they finally decide to have a meal at Poppie's.

The make-your-own-pie idea was going well until Kramer decided that he wanted cucumbers on top of it. Much like people with the abortion issue, Poppie decided that it couldn't be placed on the pizza and it was a pizza from the moment that the hands knead the dough while Kramer felt it was only a pizza when it came out of the oven.

In the end, George spills grape juice on Joe's couch and is forced to give the Temples his couch. Jerry gives the Poppie-stained couch to George and tries to get his old couch back from Elaine.
