In the previous episode, "The Pledge Drive", Elaine managed to break up Noreen and her boyfriend Dan because Dan was high-talker. Whenever Elaine tried to call Noreen, she couldn't figure out if she was talking to Dan or Noreen, so she managed to accidentally tell Dan that Noreen was flirting with Jerry. Elaine tells Jerry that Noreen met Paul as they are walking to Jerry's apartment from the grocery store.

She also tells Jerry that Paul is a long-talker because he doesn't put down the phone when she calls.

Jerry points this out to Elaine and finds it odd that Frank is meeting with a man wearing a cape. Frank claims that the man is his lawyer later in the episode. He ends up talking to Donna Chang for a while since her lines are crossed with George's, and they decide to go on a date. Jerry is excited to go on a date with a Chinese woman, but when he arrives at the Chinese restaurant to meet her, he finds out that she's not Chinese.

In the beginning of the episode, a conversation starts between Elaine and Kramer about underwear and Elaine says that Kramer should get his sperm count tested in case he wants children. When the test results come back, Kramer ends up making a big decision and he gives Jerry all of his underwear.

When Elaine tries to talk to Noreen in her apartment, Paul ends up picking up the phone again and she uses the hair dryer idea. George ends up taking his father out for lunch at Monk's and he asks about the man in the cape that Elaine and Jerry saw. This is where Frank reveals that it was his lawyer, but Frank doesn't really care about that, he's more concerned with the fact that Jerry and Elaine never said 'hello' to him.

After the brief relationship with the high-talker, Elaine managed to break Noreen up with him, and she managed to meet the long-talker. After they break up (because of Elaine), Kramer makes a move and decides to help Noreen. Prior to this, Noreen joined the army because of Elaine, and then she went AWOL. This is the last episode that Noreen appears in.

When George meets Donna, he's surprised that she's not Chinese. She ends up telling George that she spoke with his mother because the lines were crossed. Elaine meets Donna after breaking up Noreen and Paul. At this point, she tells Elaine and Jerry that the Constanzas aren't getting divorced.

Donna Chang tells George that his parents are splitting up when they first meet and he is so devastated by this that he sticks his head into Jerry's oven. Jerry thinks that if this had happened thirty years earlier, George might have been normal.
Donna Chang manages to persuade Estelle to stay with Frank by giving her words of wisdom from Confucius, but when they go to the Constanzas' house for a visit, Estelle feels that she's been duped because she didn't get advice from a Chinese woman.

In the end, Frank and Estelle don't actually get divorced although in future episodes, they are separated for a brief period. Estelle says that Donna Cheng was the one responsible for keeping them together, but then when they meet, she decides to split up with Frank. George gets angry that they've split up because now he has to travel around to see them.
