Jerry and George are on a double date together in the beginning of the episode. After telling a story about the time he dated a nude model, he picked up a pecan and ate it. George quickly told Jerry that his date, Shelly, had the pecans in her mouth and Jerry spit it out. Jerry is disgusted by the fact that he ate semi-digested food, but his girlfriend is disgusted by his reaction.

Elaine's friend Dana recommended her for an interview with Viking Press and Elaine is rally excited about it. Viking Press has a suite for out-of-town clients in the Plaza Hotel, so she pretended to be from out-of-town and used the address of Jerry's parents in Florida. Meanwhile, George is upset with a doodle that his date made of him.

Kramer is excited about the new crop of Mackinaw Peaches which are only ripe for two weeks every year. He says that the taste is like a circus in your mouth because it's a miracle of nature. Jerry isn't concerned with the peaches because he has flea bites on his leg, and his parents just flew in.

When George finds the doodle of himself at the restaurant, he asks Elaine to find out what Paula really thinks about him. At the art class, everything seems a lot like high school. The art teacher even asks Elaine to spit her gum into the waste basket.

In order to get rid of the fleas, Jerry has to leave his apartment for two days. With his parents in town, he has to find them a place to stay (since he's going to Shelly's), so he gets Elaine to give up her room at the Plaza Hotel. After this, Elaine tells George that Paula likes him and that looks aren't important to her. George is offended by this.

Elaine's friend, Judy tells Elaine that Viking Press sent her a manuscript in order to determine if she could give insightful feedback on it, and it was Fed-Exed to the address that Elaine gave. Jerry's parents brought the package with them, but Elaine left it in Jerry's apartment. She finds Jerry on the street, but the apartment's being fumigated.

When Elaine and Jerry go for the manuscript, Kramer comes out of Jerry's apartment. He had been in the apartment reading Elaine's manuscript for an hour and a half and he didn't remember where he'd left it. Kramer leaves to get fresh air while Elaine searches the apartment while holding her breath.

When Elaine emerges from the apartment without the manuscript, she tells Jerry that she found some Chunky bar wrappers in between the cushions of Jerry's couch. She gives them to Jerry and he immediately knows who gave him the fleas- Newman.

In order to get the job, Elaine asks Kramer about the manuscript that she hasn't read. While eating lunch, Kramer realizes that he can't taste his food because of the toxic gases in the apartment. This has a big effect on him because he can no longer enjoy his Mackinaw Peaches.

In the end, George kind of likes that he doesn't need to look good for Paula and he decides to drape himself in velvet (at her suggestion) since it's been a dream of his. Meanwhile, Jerry's parents invite Uncle Leo and Jerry's Nana to the hotel and they spoil themselves. Kramer's take on the manuscript proves useful to Elaine who does well at her interview, but Jerry's parents spend so much money on room service and massages that she doesn't get hired. Jerry breaks up with Shelly because he doesn't want to use her toothbrush and George breaks up with Paula because she sucks on his Mackinaw peach pit. Kramer finally gets his sense of taste back, but the Mackinaw peach crop are already finished.
