Alpha was the leader of The Whisperers, and Beta was her right-hand man. Gamma was eventually anointed her third in command. Dante was a spy Alpha sent to infiltrate and sabotage Alexandria. Jadis, however, was the leader of the Scavengers.

Rick's group has been known to get out of a few binds by smearing themselves with walker guts, but the Whisperers seem to prefer skinning walkers to make masks out of their faces. They also wear old clothes off of walkers, and they walk the way walkers do.

When they speak to one another, they do it in a whisper that sounds more like the hiss of a walker than human conversation. It's unclear how they manage not to be detected by smell when they are primarily wearing dried out masks.

The group makes its first appearance in Season 9, episode 6, "Where Are You Now?" At the end of the episode, Rosita and Eugene hide from a passing walker herd, only to hear them hissing, "Where are they?" At first, Eugene fears the walkers are evolving.

Answer: Lydia

Although most of the Whisperers don't seem to have names, the audience never knows Lydia by anything but her first name. Lydia is played by three different actresses at different ages, but primarily by Cassaday McClincy. The character makes her first appearance in season 9, episode 9, "Adaptation."

The Whisperers are somewhat nomadic, though they do pitch a seasonal camp in the woods. There they have tents and dig latrines and spend time skinning walkers and making masks. In the colder months, they migrate further south.

Answer: Adam

Hershel is Maggie's son. Sophia was Carol's daughter, who got lost and turned into a walker. Judith was the daughter of Shane and Lori, raised by Rick and Michonne. Adam is the name Earl and Tammy Sutton give to the Whisperer baby who is abandoned by Gamma's sister and rescued. After both Earl and Tammy are dead, the ex-Savior Alden takes over Adam's care.

Answer: Abraham

Abraham was killed by Negan, who beat him to death with a baseball bat. Jesus was killed in season 9, episode 8, "Evolution" when, while searching for Eugene, the group comes across a bunch of Whisperers in a graveyard. This is the first time an antagonist group killed a major character during an initial encounter. Tara and Enid were both decapitated by the Whisperers and had their heads placed on pikes.

Answer: Daryl

The fight occurs in season 9, episode 13, "Chokepoint." Daryl (played by Norman Reedus) and Alpha's right-hand-man Beta (played by Ryan Hurst) brawl violently. Daryl hides beneath a trap door, emerges, and shoves Beta down the elevator shaft. Somehow, however, Beta miraculously survives.

Answer: As "the pack"

Alpha can often be heard speaking about "the pack" when referring to her people. This calls to mind a pack of wolves or other animals. Her many gathered walkers are called "the horde." In the series, this group of villains is referred to as "the Whisperers," the "skins" and the "skin jobs" by various characters.

Gamma is disemboweled by Beta for being a traitor to the Whisperers. Henry is decapitated and has his head put on a pike. Siddiq is strangled to death by the Whisperer spy Dante. Spencer was killed before the Whisperers were ever introduced, by Negan, who disemboweled him.
