Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was Woodbury, originally?

Answer: A small Georgia town

The first four seasons of "The Walking Dead" are set in Georgia, beginning in King County. The tiny town of Woodbury is located not far from the West Georgia Correctional Facility in the show. Scenes were filmed in Senoia, Georgia. There is a real town called Woodbury, Georgia which, at the time of the 2010 census, had a population of 961.
2. Which of the following was NOT one of the advantages of Woodbury as a camp?

Answer: It had acres of farmland and livestock

Woodbury does not appear to have any farmland or livestock, but there are gardens planted in the streets to grow food. There is also power and running water, though it's unclear how the town was able to supply that. Woodbury also has its own army and armed guards, with military vehicles and numerous semi-automatic firearms.
3. What does Woodbury call Philip Blake, the man in charge?

Answer: The Governor

Woodbury was discovered by Phillip Blake and other survivors who cleared it of walkers, set up defensive walls, and made it their own. They even restored power and began to give the children formal educations. Philip earned the nickname of "The Governor" from those he helped to lead.
4. How many MORE people were there in Woodbury than in Rick's prison camp toward the start of season 3?

Answer: 55-65 more

When giving Michonne and Andrea a tour of the town in season 3, episode 3 ("Walk with Me") Rowan said there were 73 residents, with number 74 on the way (referring to a baby that was about to be born). Meanwhile, Rick's camp at that time had only about twelve people (Carol, Daryl, Hershel, Maggie, Glenn, Beth, Rick, Lori, Carl, T-Dog, and the two prisoners who eventually assimilated into the camp).
5. Which of these residents of Woodbury is NOT correctly matched with his role in the town?

Answer: Milton Mamet, guard and soldier

When Merle cut off his hand to escape the roof in Atlanta, he ended up near death. But the Governor found him and took him in and got him patched him up, and Merle became his right-hand man and a member of his army. Dr. Stevens was the town doctor, and Cesar Martinez was the second-in-command of the Woodbury Army after Philip himself.

But Milton was not a guard or soldier. He was the town's researcher and scientist.
6. Which of these women NEVER lived in Woodbury?

Answer: Rosita

Rosita didn't run into members of Rick's group until after the collapse of Woodbury. Andrea became the Governor's lover for a time and settled in Woodbury, where she was eventually killed. Karen was a soldier for the Woodbury army, but she ended up joining Rick's people and becoming Tyreese's girlfriend. Carol eventually killed her when she became infected. Sasha and Tyreese were both guards for Woodbury at one point.
7. What do the residents of Woodbury watch for entertainment in the Woodbury Arena?

Answer: Hand-to-hand pit fights between men

In season 3, episode 5, audiences are introduced to the pit, where Merle and Martinez are urged to fight each other for the entertainment of the town with walkers chained and thrashing nearby. Later, Daryl is forced to fight his own brother Merle in the pit. One other community to have similar gladiator-style amusements is the Scavengers in their Junkyard, where Rick is forced to escape walkers.
8. Which of the following was NOT a member of the Woodbury Army?

Answer: Abraham

Abraham was a U.S. Army Sergeant prior to the apocalypse, but never a part of Woodbury. He was from Texas and met up with Rosita and Eugene. He was escorting Eugene on his fabricated mission to meet up with scientists in Washington, D.C. when they ran into members of Rick's group. Shumpert and Martinez, soldiers and guards of Woodbury, first appeared in "Walk with Me," while Crowley appeared in "Hounded," where he was decapitated by Michonne.
9. When Jody, a teenage soldier from Woodbury, begins to surrender and lower his gun to the ground, who shoots him anyway?

Answer: Carl

The teenagers are urged to fight by the Governor over the objections of some of the residents of Woodbury. Jody flees the ambush and runs into Carl, Hershel, and Beth in the woods. Jody surrenders, crying, "Whoa! Don't shoot!" and lowering his gun, but Carl shoots him anyway. This scene occurs in season 3, episode 16, "Welcome to the Tombs."
10. How was Woodbury destroyed?

Answer: Its frustrated leader, Philip Blake, drove through the gates and burned it down

The Governor massacred his own soldiers for failing to fight. In a flashback in season 4, episode 6, "Live Bait," the audience learns he took a National Guard vehicle and drove it through the walls of Woodbury, set the place on fire, and watched it burn while walkers filtered in.
