This was the only thing his father gave him. When he discovered that Lister had cut part of it out to use as kindling, he told Kryten they were going to make Lister a eunuch. Specifically, "We are going to do to Lister what Alexander the Great once did to me". Rimmer was so excited that he had been Alexander the Great's chief eunich in a past life.
