Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Logan (the player character) took on most missions alongside Hesh. What was Hesh's relation to Logan?

Answer: Logan's brother

"Call of Duty: Ghosts" started with Logan and David "Hesh" Walker being told the origin story of the Ghosts by their father, Elias Walker. Soon after, they felt some tremors, and decided to get back to their house in case it was an earthquake. They soon realized that it was not an earthquake, but an attack from the U.S. orbital kinetic bombardment satellite ODIN (Orbital Defense Initiative). The simultaneous ODIN strikes on most major American cities changed the landscape of America, and put the Americans on the defensive.

Hesh and Logan worked together on most of the missions in "Call of Duty: Ghosts".
2. Logan (the player character) and Hesh often took Riley along with them on missions. What was Riley?

Answer: A dog

Riley was a German Shepherd, fitted with cameras and gear, and trained to help fight the Federation. Logan used Riley's camera system to scout enemy positions, and took advantage of Riley's training to take down a few Federation troops.

Riley was shot in the mission Sin City, but recovered. Riley was well liked by all the Ghosts.
3. During the events in "Call of Duty: Ghosts", the United States of America was at war with a faction known as the Federation. Where was the Federation based?

Answer: South America

The events preceding "Call of Duty: Ghosts" were not made explicit. According to the intro to the mission Brave New World, the energy producing nations in the Middle East and Africa were destroyed, and the nations dependent on them soon collapsed. In the aftermath, the Federation grew to power, uniting all of South America.

The Federation started conquering territory, taking Central America and Mexico. The Federation then hijacked the United States' ODIN and used it on American cities to soften the U.S. before it was invaded.
4. Logan (the player character) and Hesh were recruited by the Ghosts Keegan and Merrick to help them find their fellow Ghost. Which fellow Ghost was being held at a baseball field in San Diego, in the mission Struck Down?

Answer: Ajax

Ajax was a longtime veteran of the Ghosts, appearing in the flashback mission that took place 12 years before the main events of the game.

Merrick, Keegan, Hesh, and Logan were able to locate Ajax in the baseball stadium in San Diego. They saw the Federation soldiers torture him, and then move him inside. The team fought their way to Ajax, but they were unable to save him. Just before he died, Ajax told the Ghosts that Rorke was alive and trying to kill them.

Soap and Roach were both characters from the "Modern Warfare" series, also developed by Infinity Ward.
5. Logan and Hesh had just thought that the Ghosts were stories when they were growing up. Who turned out to be the leader of the Ghosts?

Answer: Elias Walker

After finding Ajax, Hesh and Logan rushed back to Santa Monica to repel a Federation invasion. During the attack, the command center was hit. Hesh and Logan made their way through the burning building, looking for their father. They were ambushed by Federation troops, but saved by returning Ghosts Keegan and Merrick.

Once in the air, after evacuating, Hesh was furious that the Ghosts had pulled them out before he had found his father. A new Ghost calmed Hesh down by explaining that his father was unharmed. He then took off his mask to reveal himself as Elias. Hesh was stunned that his father was one of the elite unit that he had only thought was a myth.

When Elias revealed himself to Hesh, Hesh asked "You're a Ghost?". Merrick corrected him with "Try THE Ghost. That's your commanding officer."

Kyra Mosley was the astronaut that helped destroy the ODIN once it had been used to destroy U.S. cities. The Ghosts tried to capture Victor Ramos as a way to find Rorke. General Shepherd was a character from "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2", a game also made by Infinity Ward.
6. The Ghosts found out that one of their former own was hunting them down. A man named Gabriel Rorke, who had once led the Ghosts, was now working for the Federation. During the flashback mission, Legends Never Die, who did the player control?

Answer: Elias Walker

The flashback mission took place in Caracas, 12 years before the events of the main plot, near the beginning of the war with the Federation. General Diego Almagro, the leader of the new Federation, had just ordered that all U.S. citizens in the Federation be imprisoned or executed. Rorke convinced the U.S. to send the Ghosts to kill Almagro, and the U.S. launched an invasion. Rorke, along with fellow Ghosts Elias, Ajax, and Merrick, managed to find and kill Almagro, but Rorke had to be sacrificed for the rest of the Ghosts to live. Rorke was captured, tortured, and remolded into a Federation asset.

John Price was an important character in the "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" series, also made by Infinity Ward.
7. The Ghosts needed a distraction, and so they decided to destroy the Atlas in the mission Atlas Falls. What was Atlas?

Answer: An oil rig

The Ghosts learned that there was a large project under construction near Rio. The only problem was that the waters there were heavily defended by Federation ships. The Ghosts launched an assault on the Atlas oil platform in the Drake passage (waterway between South America and Antarctica) to draw the Federation fleet away from Rio, as well as denying the Federation a vital oil source.
8. In the mission Into The Deep, what kind of animals did Keegan and Logan (the player character) have to avoid?

Answer: Sharks

While most of the Federation fleet was drawn away from Rio, one ship remained, an advanced AEGIS class combat ship. It was impossible to attack it from the air, and it had only one vulnerable spot. Logan and Keegan were tasked with approaching the ship underwater, and destroying it with a well placed portable torpedo. During their approach, the Ghosts had to fight off enemy divers, avoid SONAR pings, and worst of all, avoid hungry sharks.
9. What new weapon did the Federation bring online when the Ghosts attempted their final assault to stop the Federation?

Answer: LOKI

The Federation had managed to construct LOKI; a weapon similar to the ODIN. The U.S. attack on the Federation involved an assault on the west coast of South America with their navy (including their last aircraft carrier), as well as an attack on the Federation's LOKI weapon. Icarus squad managed to take control of the LOKI weapon, and directed it against Federation targets.

Nova 6 was the biochemical weapon used in the plot for "Call of Duty: Black Ops", made by Treyarch. A Scorpion was one of three alien species (the others being Seeker and Rhino) found in the Extinction multiplayer mode; a new mode introduced in "Call of Duty: Ghosts".
10. Where did Hesh and Logan (the player character) finally confront Rorke in the final mission, The Ghost Killer?

Answer: A train

Rorke was found on a suspended train hurtling through the Andes. Hesh and Logan boarded the rear of the train, and had to shoot their way forward to Rorke. They had promised to take down Rorke, no matter the cost, and ended up calling a LOKI strike down on the train with themselves still inside.

The train derailed and plunged into ocean. There, Hesh and Logan had one final scuffle with Rorke in the flooding cabin, to settle things once and for all...
