Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The name of the main boss of this game is called?

Answer: Mother Brain

The Mother Brain is the boss of the Metroid. Interestingly enough, it looks somewhat like Krang from the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" cartoon series.
2. The code name you can put in followed by dashes to make strange (and wonderful) things happen is?

Answer: Justin Bailey

Several theories exist as to the meaning of 'Justin Bailey'. Some think it refers to someone who worked on creating the game. Others think the word 'bailey' in an old British word for 'bathing suit', which is what Samus appears to be wearing when the code is activated.
3. The name of the planet you are on in this game is called Zebeth.

Answer: False

It's actually called Planet Zebes. The game programmers must have translated it badly or it's a spelling error, but it shows up as Zebeth on the game.
4. The sections of the planet are called Brinstar, Norfair, and Tourian.

Answer: True

They ARE the names of the sections. There are also two mini-sections, which are the hideouts of the two mini bosses. When you defeat both of them, the bridge to Tourian appears.
5. What is the full name of the bounty hunter you play as in this game?

Answer: Samus Aran

Samus is a female bounty hunter that the Federation keeps hiring to exterminate the Metroid menace. You'd wonder how much she actually makes...
6. What beam is needed to destroy the namesake of this game?

Answer: Ice Beam

You need the Ice Beam to destroy the Metroid. There are two Ice beam powerups, which are absolutely neccessary to defeat them.
7. The symbol on the Screw Attack is what symbol?

Answer: lightning bolt

The Screw attack lets you destroy enemies when you jump. Isn't that like "Sonic's" spin attack?
8. There are two Wave Beam powerups in the game.

Answer: false

There are two Ice Beam powerups, one in Brinstar and one in Norfair, but only one Wave Beam, which is in Norfair. Was the Ice Beam REALLY that hard to find?
9. What is the name of the mini boss in Norfair?

Answer: Ridley

Kraid lives in Brinstar, while Ridley makes himself at home in Norfair. Mother Brain is the main boss of the game and lives in Tourian, and Samus Aran-X is what they call the X-Parasite that attacked Samus and absorbed her Power Suit in "Metroid Fusion."
10. What is the greatest amount of hours you have to beat the game in to see Samus' true identity?

Answer: 5

If you beat the game in 3-5 hours, Samus' helmet disappears and you can see her face. But if you beat it in less than 3 hours, her armor will completely disappear and you can play through the game again as Armorless Samus.
