Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What alien race gave Samus her Power Suit?

Answer: the Chozo

Samus meets the Luminoth in "Metroid Prime 2: Echoes", which is long after she aquired her Power Suit. The Space Pirates are her main enemies. The Covenant are the main enemies in the "Halo" games.
2. Which of the games breaks the fourth wall?

Answer: "Metroid Fusion"

You can only witness this in a very well-hidden Easter Egg. After navigating though a long series of passageways, all while managing to keep your speed booster charge by Shinesparking, you can find the Navigation Room without activating Level 4 hatches and getting Diffusion Missiles. Adam and a Galactic Federation officer share a brief discussion about whether they should tell you their "plan," to which Adam rejects, he tells you to get back on the correct route.

As you exit the conversation, he remarks, "I wonder how many players will see this message...?" I don't think it's a lot, considering that it literally took me about one hundred tries before I finally got it.
3. Who is the leader of the Space Pirates and Samus's arch enemy?

Answer: Ridley

If you guessed the Mother Brain, you were close, but not quite there. The Mother Brain isn't the Space Pirate leader, she simply controls the systems of the Space Pirate fortresses on Planet Zebes in "Metroid"/"Metroid Zero Mission" and "Super Metroid".

There is no individual named Metroid, they are a dangerous race of creatures that Samus usually finds herself hunting in the games. Kraid is one of the Space Pirate leaders, but he's below Ridley.
4. Which film series has "Metroid" often been compared to?

Answer: "Alien"

The two franchises have a surprisingly long list of things in common. Both of them star a woman, both of them simply have the name of their creature nemesis as the name of the series and first installment, both of the creatures' "homeworlds" (although LV-426 isn't the Alien homeworld) are a sequence of letters and numbers instead of actual names, both focus on travelling to a planet inhabited by them in the second, both of the fourth installments involve the main character having some of the creatures' DNA inside them, and both take place in a similar futuristic sci-fi universe.

In fact, Ridley was named after the director of "Alien", Ridley Scott. "Star Wars" and "Godzilla" are just not correct, and "Halo" isn't a movie series at all (yet).
5. Where did Samus's parents die?

Answer: K-2L

They were killed by the Space Pirates and Ridley. This inspired a deep hatred for both of them in Samus. The orphaned Samus was discovered by the Chozo, who took her in as their own, trained her in the Chozo ways, infused her with Chozo blood, and gave her the Power Suit, thereby setting off the events of the games.
6. What is Samus's last name?

Answer: Aran

Yes, she has a last name. Ripley is the last name of the main character from the "Alien" series, Ellen Ripley. As for Skywalker, I highly doubt I have to tell you what that's from.
7. What animals do Metroids most resemble?

Answer: Jellyfish

Metroids look a lot like jellyfish, but they float instead of swim and have four sharp fangs instead of tentacles. There are some exceptions, depending on the type of Metroid; Hunter Metroids, for example, have an energy-siphoning tentacle, while the Queen Metroid doesn't look remotely like a jellyfish.
8. What color is Phazon?

Answer: Blue and red

Phazon is usually blue, but in the Impact crater in "Metroid Prime", it is found in its pure form, where it's red. This kind of Phazon is so deadly that it can even damage the Phazon Suit.
9. Metroids were genetically engineered by the Chozo to hunt what creature?

Answer: X Parasite

The Chozo never met the Ing, probably could have defeated the Space Pirates by themselves (considering how much trouble the Pirates have dealing with Samus alone), and wouldn't create a race of vicious creatures to kill someone who was on their side, would they? It was mentioned in the instruction manual for "Metroid Fusion" that the Chozo created the Metroids.
10. What does the word Metroid literally mean?

Answer: Ultimate Warrior

Again, this comes from the backstory. I got the "perfect organism" part from "Alien".
I hope you've enjoyed my quiz!
