Reverse makes the arrows flow from top to bottom instead of bottom to top, which takes quite a bit of time to learn how to read effectively.

The No Recover modifier starts you out with a full life bar, but should you fail to hit a step with the "Perfect," "Great," or "Good" rating, or release a Freeze arrow too early, your life bar will decrease as it would in normal gameplay, with the exception that you cannot earn back the portion you have lost, allowing for very few misses before you ultimately fail the song.
