Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many survivors, at the max, join each game?

Answer: Four

Each game is built asymmetrically with one Killer and four Survivors. The goal, for the Killer, is to sacrifice all four Survivors to the Entity or, otherwise, just prevent escape (and this means killing them outright). The goal of the Survivors is to get out of the map and escape the entity, and this can be done using the exit gates found on any given stage or by leaving through a hatch at the appropriate time. Games are meant to facilitate four Survivor players to balance out tasks. Games can not contain more than four survivors, but if a Survivor disconnects mid-match, the other players will need to pick up the slack to get out.

It's unfortunate, but according to statistics released by Behaviour Interactive, between 40 and 50% of players will escape their game. Look at your fellow Survivors-- odds are, two of you won't be making it out alive.
2. Generally, how many generators are needed to power the exit gates?

Answer: Five

Although this can vary depending on different criteria, the general rule is that four Survivors will need to clear five generators to be able to activate the exit gates on any given stage. That said, all stages contain seven generators, so there will always be three generators towards the end of this phase of the game, reducing Killer camping potential. Having a strong team of Survivors will only increase progress and survival likelihood. Having less people will obviously make things a bit trickier.

The catch is that if it becomes statistically unlikely to open the exit gates, there is a potential for a black lock (a hatch) to spawn depending on how many generators and Survivors are left in the game.
3. How many exit gates appear on a map?

Answer: Two

The two are randomly generated in nearly every game, often getting created on different sides of the map, but occasionally being in a spot conducive to Killer camping (from a point between). Once all of the generators have been charged up, a Survivor can run to one of the exit doors and throw the switch, holding it in place to open the gates.

This will take a predetermined amount of time, however, so players are still vulnerable at this time. Once the gate is open, they still need to run through and get to the edge of the map to get out.

A Killer can still hit a Survivor through the exit gates at that point. Running off the map (or crawling, if the case requires) means successful escape, but there's no turning back at that point.
4. How many times can you be hooked, at the maximum, before the Entity claims you?

Answer: Three

One of the ways for a Killer to put an end to a Survivor is by sacrificing them to an Entity, and the only way to do that without forcing the endgame to collapse is by placing the Survivor on one of the many hooks found throughout each map. To do this, the Killer needs to bring the Survivor down to a crawl, usually by hitting them more than once or catching them at the proper opportunity.

The first time a player is hooked, they can wait it out or attempt to escape the hook (at a base 1 in 25 chance of escape).

When their meter reaches the halfway mark, however, they need to struggle to defend themselves from the Entity's clutches. If the Survivor is saved before reaching that halfway mark on their bar (and the struggle), their second time on the hook will push them into a struggle immediately. Being hooked a third time (ie, being saved during the struggle phase) means immediate sacrifice and a loss on the Survivor's side.
5. Survivors can hide in which of the following?

Answer: Locker

In addition to Survivors being able to creep around quietly, they can also evade Killers by hiding in lockers found throughout each map. That being said, quick locker entries and exits can make a lot of noise, instantly alerting a Killer to your presence, and being injured when entering a locker will create a noticeable blood pool in front (which disappears after a short time).

There are benefits to this tactic, but also several drawbacks; the Survivor can be penalized with audio and visual cues if they hide in a locker for too long. Additionally, some Killers have perks to better locate and bring down hiding players.

Some Killers even have their main mechanics built around lockers (The Huntress, for example, makes significant use of lockers to reload her hatchets). If a Survivor is found in a locker or grabbed while emerging from a locker, they are instantly carried and can be taken to a hook.
6. Items can be added to players during the pre-game load-out. What else can be added on?

Answer: Offering

Players (Survivors and Killers alike) can add items that can go with them into the game. Survivors get the choice between health kits, toolboxes, flashlights, maps, and event items, while Killers use items specific to their mechanics and abilities. Additionally, both can add a single offering to any game, most of which affect point calculations or map selection and manipulation (including fog enhancements, multipliers, item retention abilities, etc.). An offering, unless nulled out by another offering, is consumed upon entering a game (and is usually revealed to all players).
7. To purchase items on the Bloodweb, you need to spend which of these?

Answer: Bloodpoints

In addition to building yourself up through practice in the game, you can also develop your character by collecting items and perks from the Bloodweb on the character selection screen. The Bloodweb, randomly generated, contains nodes that can feature equippables, offerings, and all manner of unlocked perks. Once you complete a web, your character will level up and you can start a new one. Reaching level 50 on any given character will allow them to prestige and start their Bloodweb over, losing all items and perks to that point, but improving the assortment. You can prestige three times.

There's another catch. At level 10, the Entity will start taking items or perks off the Bloodweb, removing some if you choose to go for one thing over the other.
8. Totems, found throughout maps, are used by Killers for which of these?

Answer: Hexes

Maps typically contain five totems, and these unique items are found as specifically-placed piles of bones topped with a skull. Inactive totems are simply that, but active one are signified as glowing piles, and those indicate that a Killer has used a perk that creates a certain effect in-game.

Some of these come into effect immediately, giving bonuses that can stack based on how a Killer proceeds in the game, but some activate at specific times, not affecting the player until it's too late. This makes it imperative that survivors retain more map awareness than just the typical generator and exit gate location effort.

A totem takes time to destroy, making a Survivor vulnerable to attack if they're caught out. Like with generators and lockers, players can be pulled off of totems immediately or simply attacked and interrupted in their vulnerable state.
9. At a maximum, how many perks can one Killer or one Survivor have active at one time?

Answer: Four

Although players (Killers and Survivors alike) will start out only being able to attach one perk, this number increases to four by the time they hit level 15, allowing them to mix and match as they please. The catch is that all players only start with their specific character's three teachable perks and the rest must be unlocked by levelling up the Bloodweb. On the Bloodweb, perks can be levelled up to level 3 and if you've unlocked the teachable perks for any other character, they can potentially appear, at random, on any other character's Bloodweb. Each character starts with unique perks tied to their backstory.
10. Which of these is not a criteria to determine Killer Bloodpoint intake?

Answer: Boldness

Both Survivors and Killers are graded on performance in-game, and their actions throughout lead to more or less Bloodpoints depending and, to a large extent, affect rankings that match them up with teams/foes better suited to their skill levels. For Survivors, these criteria are Objectives, Survival, Altruism, and Boldness; for Killers they're Brutality, Deviousness, Hunter, and Sacrifice. Bloodpoints are also affected by offerings and events and, the more you get, the more you can spend on your Bloodwebs.
