Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the Angry Aztec level, "_____" spells freedom for Tiny Kong?

Answer: Kong

It is a child's game, after all. Any other word would be too subtle for most new players. This is the objective where Diddy uses his Chimpy Charge to bash the letters in this sequence to free the helicopter girl.
2. K. Lumsy's name fits him well.

Answer: True

Of course it does! If you've played through the game at least once, due to his lighthearted non-Kremling nature, K. Rool locked him up in that cage. When you set him free, his first act is to enjoy new-found freedom. He sees a "small flying object" and happily chases it around DK Isle.

This continues until, true to his name, he trips on a rock and knocks K. Rool's escape ship out of the sky. Explore the wreckage to find the final battle arena (Near Bananaport 3).
3. Who sets Chunky free in Frantic Factory?

Answer: Lanky

Only with his perfect Orangstand balance can Lanky climb a pipe to press the switch for Chunky's cage in the Frantic Factory. For anyone else, it's too slippery.
4. There are two mini-games where you race through a mine collecting coins.

Answer: No

There are three. Diddy does one in Jungle Japes (25), Chunky does his in the Fungi Forest (50), and Donkey's is in the Creepy Castle(25).
5. Mad Jack is defeated after how many hits?

Answer: 5

Mad Jack, the boss of Frantic Factory, is one of the most frustrating enemies in the game (for me, anyway). To beat him, avoid getting flattened as he chases you. He never jumps at an angle, but always in a straight line. When he stops, look for a switch on a same-colored tile as the one he is on to give him a zap.

After three hits, he turns invisible, then you just have to look for a lit tile with a shadow and press the respectively-colored tile switch.
6. In Gloomy Galleon, whose blueprint is near Chunky's cannonball- aiming banana?

Answer: Lanky's

On the plank between the cannon ball's original place and the cannon sits the Kasplat with Lanky's blueprint. You might have to raise the water level, though, if it isn't already.
7. Besides a Golden Banana, you play DK Arcade (1981) in the Frantic Factory to win what?

Answer: Nintendo Coin

This coin, along with the Rareware coin (get 15 banana medals, talk to Cranky, and get 5,000 points in Jetpac) allows you access to the final key (in Hideout Helm) to K. Lumsy's cage. While you're getting the key, Don't forget to get a picture of the last two banana fairies.
8. Which Kong uses all three of their abilities to defeat K. Rool?

Answer: Chunky

Chunky must first use his Gorilla Gone to make K. Rool visible, then Hunky Chunky to eliminate the size difference, and a Primate Punch to send K. Rool flying into the turnbuckles. Repeat three more times to enjoy the ending and credits.
9. In Tiny's final battle, King K. Rool's right shoe has a hole in it.

Answer: False

Actually, the hole is on his left shoe. Either way, you must de"feet" all four of his toes to win Tiny's final battle. After he stops butt-slamming the ground, he'll hold his rear and yell in pain. This is your time. Jump in the Mini-Monkey barrel, run into the shoe, avoid the toe patterns (there are two), and hit each toe when it lifts. 1st toe is once, 2nd is twice, and so on.
10. In the 100% ending, Diddy is riding on K. Lumsy's tail.

Answer: False

Donkey, the big hero, has to hitch a ride on the lizard's tail. Diddy rides on his chin.
11. In the less than 100% ending, which tub of lard stands on top of a tree?

Answer: Scoff

I have no idea how he got up there, but he managed somehow. The Hippo dances happily in the tree as his fat pig friend Troff looks up to see him.
12. What does the K. in K. Rool stand for?

Answer: Krusha

What kind of King would have a whimpy first name? When K. Rool is introduced in the final battle Rd. 1, his first name is given. Coincidentally, it's also the name of the Kremling in Multiplayer.
13. Which beloved Donkey Kong character is only playable in the Multi-Player Mode?

Answer: Krusha

Krusha is the only non-Kong character available in multi-player mode... unfortunately, you have to have photographed fifteen fairies to unlock him for play, then activate the cheat in the ? screen.
14. What item cannot be made infinite, even with all the cheats on (and without using a GameShark)?

Answer: Life

Unfortunatly, Rareware decided not to give those players who picked up the RareWare banana the choice of invincibility. That's rather odd, seeing as how most Rareware games do have this option in one way or another. Oh, well, infinite coins, music power, ammo (only after picking up homing ammo), oranges, coconuts, film, and all the items you pick up isn't so bad, I guess. Personally, invincibility would be nice when battling Mad Jack.
15. How many of the game's bosses crawl back sniveling to the King in between-level cutscenes?

Answer: 2

When the Kongs enter Angry Aztec, Army Dillo begs K. Rool to give him another chance... and either from lack of time or a kind heart, the 'Dillo gets a second try to stop the Kongs in the Crystal Caves(of course, he fails again). Also, when entering Crystal Caves lobby, K. Rool walks proudly as he knows his "fiery little pet" has defeated the Kongs. Dogadon decides to choose that moment to report.

Hearing K. Rool's little speech, he begs for mercy, sniveling about how a little Kong "threw nasty barrels that went bang", then a big Kong "grew huge and punched {him} in the face." Disgusted to hear this, K. Rool slams the viewport closed.
