The protagonist of "Dracula Unleashed" is Alexander Morris, brother of Quincey Morris, a character who was killed in the original "Dracula" novel. Alexander was born in Texas, but had traveled to England to investigate his brother's death. The game is set in the year 1899 only a few days before the New Year.

While in England, Alexander Morris falls in love with and becomes engaged to Annisette Bowen. In the early cutscenes of the game, Alexander receives word that Annisette's father was dead. When Alexander goes to her home, Annisette tells him that her father's heart attack was brought on by fear from an unknown intruder.

Upon arriving in England, Alexander Morris is invited to join The Hades Club by Arthur Holmwood, who had been friends with Alexander's slain brother. Both men do not seem too thrilled having Alexander in their club.

There has been a serial killer on the loose in London. Multiple victims were reported to have been found decapitated with their bodies drained of blood. Among the victims was a carriage driver employed by Arthur Holmwood.

Devlin Goldacre and Alfred Horner are partners who run a bookstore in London. Alexander found out that the bookstore had a secret room containing jars of blood, as well as an old Romanian manuscript. The manuscript told of a magic amulet that could bring someone back to life and allow the user to be able to disguise themselves as anyone else.

It turns out that Goldacre and Horner were successful in bringing Count Dracula back to life.

Answer: Abraham Van Helsing

Dr. Abraham Van Helsing is a vampire expert who lives in Holland. In the game, Van Helsing is asked to return to London by Alexander to help him in his investigation. Dr. John Seward, another character from the novel, runs the insane asylum. R. M. Renfield is one of Dr. Seward's patients at the asylum. Renfield was a servant of Count Dracula in the original novel. Randall Briarcliffe was a university professor in London and was a character exclusive to the game.

Answer: Juliet Adams

Juliet Adams was Annisette's best friend and lover of Devlin Goldacre. She unfortunately fell victim to Count Dracula much like the character of Lucy Westenra had been in the original novel. Juliet died and had become a vampire herself. Alexander goes to the cemetery with Professor Van Helsing where they cure her of being a vampire by hammering a wooden stake through her heart. Juliet's death causes her lover Devlin Goldacre to plot his revenge against the Count.

Answer: A blackjack

Alexander receives a blackjack weapon from a guard at Dr. Seward's asylum when he first visits. He will need to have the blackjack equipped when he goes there later after Annisette's father's funeral. Having the blackjack in hand, Alexander will knock out Renfield when he tries to choke Van Helsing.

Answer: Arthur Holmwood

Devlin Goldacre had kidnapped Annisette hoping to use her to lure Count Dracula into a trap. Alexander Morris goes to The Hades Club to rescue her. Arthur Holmwood soon arrives and kills Goldacre. He then reveals himself to be Count Dracula, who used the magic amulet to disguise himself as Holmwood.

He explains that he had killed the real Holmwood and his wife and was ready to make Annisette his bride and regain his full strength. Alexander then springs the trap Goldacre had set. He pulls down curtains which reveal numerous crosses on the walls which weakens Count Dracula.

A piece of wood then falls from the ceiling, impaling the Count through the heart, killing him once again.
