Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who is the final 'main story' boss of "Final Fantasy X"?

Answer: Yu Yevon

"Final Fantasy X" was released in 2001 for PS2. To avoid a novel, here's the basic summary. The land of Spira is tormented by a large whale-like creature named Sin. Each time Sin appears, a spirit summoner travels to the ancient city of Zanarkand to obtain the Final Aeon, a powerful entity required to defeat Sin and bring about a temporary calmness.

In a tradition that lasted for centuries, one of the summoner's guardians is chosen to become the Aeon. As a result, the summoner and guardian both die, with the guardian's spirit later becoming the new Sin. Tidus, Yuna and the rest of the main party decide to break tradition and later discover that Yu Yevon, a spirit from ancient Zanarkand, was in fact the true enemy.

2. The final boss of "Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker" was named Pacifica Ocean. What name did she use to hide her true identity?

Answer: Paz Ortega Andrade

In "Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker" for PSP, Pacifica Ocean was an agent sent by Cipher, an organization headed by Major Zero, a former ally of Snake (Big Boss). She disguised herself as an innocent looking teenage girl named Paz Andrade Ortega, who convinced Big Boss to investigate a top secret CIA operation in Costa Rica.

After disposing of Peace Walker and other AI machines, Big Boss had obtained parts to build his own Metal Gear unit (Zeke) at his Mother Base platform. It ended up being hijacked by Pacifica in an attempt to assassinate Big Boss and destroy Mother Base. "Paz" means peace in Spanish.
3. In which "Mega Man" original series game can the final version of Dr. Wily only be defeated by using bubbles?

Answer: Mega Man 2

The final stage of "Mega Man 2" for NES has Mega Man heading underground to track down the sleazy Dr. Wily. When he enters the boss chamber, Dr. Wily appears and transforms into a green alien. The alien can only be defeated by using the Bubble Lead weapon obtained from Bubble Man.

The alien is later revealed to be a holographic projection. The real Dr. Wily finally surrenders after the battle.
4. Which character turns on main protagonist, Tommy Vercetti, in the final story mission of "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City"?

Answer: Lance Vance

Lance Vance is the brother of Victor Vance, a cocaine dealer killed during the opening scene of "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" (released on multiple platforms in 2002). During the story, Lance allies himself with Tommy Vercetti to investigate and get revenge on the person responsible for the hit.

He and Tommy then proceed to take over Vice City. When the main antagonist Sonny Forelli finally comes to Vice City to confront Tommy, Lance betrays Tommy. Tommy chases Lance to the rooftop of his mansion where he kills him.

5. Which item does Link need to stun Ganondorf during the first phase of their final battle in "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time"?

Answer: Light Arrows

In "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" for N64, Link travels into the future to liberate Hyrule from the evil Ganondorf. After obtaining the six medallions from the Sages, Link enters Hyrule Castle to confront Ganondorf. In the first phase of the final battle, Ganondorf hovers in the air while launching energy balls at you. You must first continuously deflect the energy attack back at Ganondorf until it hits him.

Then, you must hit him with a light arrow to bring him to the ground where you can attack him with your sword. If you missed it in the photo, there is a light arrow in the water.
6. Who was eventually revealed to be the Origami Killer in the game, "Heavy Rain"?

Answer: Scott Shelby

Scott Shelby is one of the four playable characters in "Heavy Rain" which was released on PS3 in 2010. He is a private investigator who is seemingly investigating the Origami Killer mystery. Instead of collecting evidence to aid in the investigation, he is actually collecting evidence to hide his true motives. Scott had been traumatized as a child after his drunken father allowed his brother to drown. Scott would kidnap a young boy and place him in a sewer during a storm.

He then challenged the fathers to prove their love for their sons by having them complete various trials. If they failed to complete the trials before the sewer filled up, the boy would die.

7. How fast must you beat the original "Metroid" to see Samus ditch her suit for a bikini?

Answer: Less than 1 hour

"Metroid" was released for the NES in 1986. It featured Samus Aran, as the protagonist, who donned a yellow suit and orange helmet. First time players were stunned to find out that Samus Aran was actually female. The faster you beat the game, the less clothes Samus will be wearing in the ending scene. If you beat the game within 3-5 hours, she'll simply take her helmet off. If you beat the game within 1-3 hours, she'll be in a one-piece leotard. If you beat the game in less than an hour, she'll be in a bikini.
8. Which of these methods will not defeat Bowser in the final castle of "Super Mario Bros. 3"?

Answer: Stomp on him six times

In the final boss battle of "Super Mario Bros. 3" for NES, you are not able to stomp on Bowser, otherwise you'll take damage or die. Instead, you must lure Bowser to jump in the air. He'll pause a second before slamming down. You must run away before he comes down so that he breaks the bricks of the bridge when he lands. You then repeat this until Bowser busts a hole in the bridge, where he will fall to his demise. You can also kill him with fireballs and/or hammers.
9. In the first-person shooter game "Descent", the final boss is located on the largest moon of Pluto. What is its name?

Answer: Charon

"Descent" is a first-person shooter released for multiple systems in 1995. In the game, robots have gone berserk at human outposts located on planets and moons across the Solar System. To prevent the robots from taking over the Earth, The Post-Terran Mining Company (PTMC) hires a mercenary to destroy these outposts by taking out their nuclear cores and rescue any hostages found. You start out on the Moon and clear out the inner planets before heading to the outer solar system for the rest. One major boss robot guards the planet Mercury and the final boss is located on Charon, the largest moon of Pluto.
10. In "Assassin's Creed II", Ezio follows Rodrigo Borgia to Rome for the final showdown. What powerful title does Borgia hold at this point?

Answer: Pope

"Assassin's Creed II" was released on multiple systems in 2009. The main antagonist was named Rodrigo Borgia, a Spaniard who was a Templar master in the game. He was based off the real life Rodrigo de Borjia (1431-1503), who became Pope Alexander VI in 1493 (depicted in the photo).

In the game, the reason he became Pope was to gain access to the Papal staff (a Piece of Eden) and gain access to a hidden vault located within St. Peter's Basilica at the Vatican.
