"Guild Wars: Nightfall" - Kourna Quiz

Kourna has the most cooperative missions out of all the areas in Elona. During your character's first play-through of the game, some of these missions will be mutually exclusive, depending on which hero you select (Master of Whispers or Margrid the Sly).

The six missions are Venta Cemetery, Kodonur Crossroads, Rilohn Refuge/Pogahn Passage, Moddok Crevice and Nundu Bay. Nundu Bay only becomes available once you complete the quest Heart or Mind: Ronjok in Danger, acquired in Vabbi sometime after completing the Grand Court of Sebelkeh mission.

I hope you thought carefully about this question! Sunspear Sanctuary is only accessible from two explorable areas - Marga Coast and Command Post. The Command Post area contains no foes, and provides access to the surrounding areas - Sunward Marches, Turai's Procession, Jahai Bluffs and Arkjok Ward.

Answer: Yohlon Haven & Camp Hojanu

At first, Nundu Bay is an outpost, but once the quest Heart or Mind: Ronjok in Danger is completed, it changes into a cooperative mission location. Yohlon Haven is the first outpost that you will arrive in on Kourna, after completing the Consulate Docks mission. Camp Hojanu connects the Dejarin Estate with Barbarous Shore.

Answer: The Mirror of Lyss

The Mirror of Lyss is a Vabbian explorable area, in which the Grand Court of Sebelkeh can be seen suspended in the air. Gandara, the Moon Fortress is the setting for two cooperative missions - Consulate Docks and Pogahn Passage. The Floodplain of Mahnkelon houses the Mahnkelon Waterworks, which controls the flow of the River Elon.

The Rilohn Refuge mission takes place within the waterworks. The Bahdok Caverns, although bearing a high resemblance to Vabbian terrain, is classified as part of Kourna.

Nerashi's squad consists of herself, Lonai, Rojis and Ahtok. Ahtok dies at the beginning of the Consulate Docks mission, by siege fire, which is ironic due to one of his battle quotes being "Charging into battle used to bother me. You never know when you'll get hit by an arrow or, gods forbid, some siege weaponry." Lonai gives quests and quest rewards in the Sunspear Sanctuary, Rojis' only appearance on Kourna is during the Venta Cemetery mission, and Nerashi crops up in Arkjok Ward, Jahai Bluffs and Marga Coast during certain quests.

Kournan Field Commanders are usually accompanied by a Kournan Spotter, who can detect players from a longer distance than other enemies can. Once the Spotter has identified the players, he sends a warning to the Field Commander who then begins bombarding the players with devastating siege attacks.

There was an epic battle long ago between Turai Ossa and Palawa Joko, the Scourge of Vabbi. Turai Ossa prevailed, and Palawa was entombed in a crypt so that he may never escape. However, due to Abaddon's movement and the disturbance in the world, Palawa was freed from his tomb, and briefly helped players cross the Sulfurous Wastes in the Gate of Desolation mission. Turai Ossa is, in fact, the Ghostly Hero encountered in the Crystal Desert in the "Prophecies" campaign.

Stone Shard Crags are the bane of the melee character (I think I've said that before about Fanged Ibogas!), due to their use of Earth Magic and the powerful elite skill Sandstorm. They are usually coupled with a Cracked Mesa, a giant Warrior elemental, which can result in an annoying battle.

The Cracked Mesa has a skill which can inflict Weakness, and the Stone Shard Crag can take advantage of this by using a skill which causes knock-down if weakened. The Drought, in the Rilohn Refuge mission, is a bigger version of a Stone Shard Crag.

Answer: Toads

Hekets are predominantly Rangers and Warriors, but there are Necromancers and Monks as well. Warrior Hekets, known in-game as Stoneaxe Hekets, will enjoy inflicting Deep Wounds on your party members, while the Ranger Hekets (the Beast Sworn) will use their pets to dish out most of their damage. Relatively heavy condition removal is advisable, but not necessary, if facing large numbers of Hekets at once, which is not uncommon, considering they travel in groups of around 8.

Answer: Wehhan Terraces

The Moddok Crevice mission takes place in the Bahdok Caverns, where you must fight through many Kournan troops to reach the final chamber containing the horrific Hunger and its master, General Bayel. It is highly advisable to use ranged attacks or spells to kill the Kournan troops above you before taking on General Bayel, who is a Monk and will heal the Hunger. Once the path is clear, taking on the Hunger should be a piece of cake.
