Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which two bosses are fought in the Gate of Madness mission?

Answer: Undead Lich & Shiro Tagachi

The Gate of Madness is the penultimate mission in the game, where players must fight their way through hordes of nightmare creatures and summon the avatars of the Five Gods in their court. Waiting for players at the end of the mission are the Undead Lich and Shiro Tagachi, who have been brought back to life by Abaddon to do his bidding. Both these bosses fight the party at the same time, so it is important to focus on one until he is dead before turning attention to the other. Even with a full party of eight, this can be a tough battle, so taking over each statue of the gods will provide the party with additional buffs which should make fighting the Lich and Shiro a little bit easier.
2. The Gate of the Nightfallen Lands is only accessible through which explorable area?

Answer: Nightfallen Jahai

Nightfallen Jahai has, as the name suggests, the same layout as Jahai Bluffs in Kourna, but with the added bonus of having been taken over by Abaddon and his nightmare creatures. The portal to the Gate of the Nightfallen Lands is located in the same place where the entrance to the Command Post of the Sunspear Sanctuary would be in Jahai Bluffs.

It is not surprising, therefore, that this outpost is the nightfallen version of the Sunspear Sanctuary.
3. Upon entering the vortex at the Mouth of Torment, where do players end up?

Answer: Gate of Torment

The Gate of Torment is the main town/outpost in the Realm of Torment. Amongst the hellish terrain and nightmarish scenery are several Forgotten guardians who will offer you their services, and the lost souls of various people wandering around trying to return to 'the land of the living', so to speak.
4. Which of these is not an explorable area in the Realm of Torment?

Answer: Nightfallen Garden

While the Nightfallen Garden resembles the other explorable areas in the Realm of Torment, it is located in Vabbi and replaces the Garden of Seborhin after the Grand Court of Sebelkeh mission. The Throne of Secrets, like the small ice cavern in Droknar's Forge in "Prophecies", the Divine Path in "Factions", and the Battledepths in "Eye of the North", is the final area accessed during the campaign storyline after defeating Abaddon, where the end-game rewards await.
5. Which mission involves destroying Tortureweb Dryders to free the souls held captive within?

Answer: Gate of Pain

Gate of Pain is the first mission in the Realm of Torment, and can be fairly tricky to complete, even with an experienced party. The crux of the mission is to find and defeat Tortureweb Dryders before they can kill the Lost Souls they hold. A whole host of Torment creatures patrol the area, making this quite a difficult task to accomplish.

These patrol groups tend to be quite close to one another, so taking too long to kill a group may result in another patrol passing close by and getting in on the action.

After the mission is complete, the party will find themselves in the Gate of Fear.
6. Which of these locations does not form part of the Domain of Anguish?

Answer: Ruins of the Tomb of the Primeval Kings

The Domain of Anguish can only be accessed after completing the main campaign. Speaking to the Guardian of Whispers in the Chantry of Secrets, allows the party access to a secret shrine devoted to the sixth God. Kneeling at this shrine will summon the Seer of Truth, who will grant the party access to the Gate of Anguish outpost in the Realm of Torment.

Here, players can party up and conquer the extremely difficult depths of this elite region, slaying the four emissaries of Abaddon in their respective locations - Lord Jadoth in the City of Torc'qua, the Greater Darkness in Ravenheart Gloom, the Fury in the Foundry of Failed Creations, and the Dreadspawn Maw in Stygian Veil.

When these four have been defeated, the party will then be able to access the Ebony Citadel and take on the Margonite overlord Mallyx the Unyielding, who offers some very valuable rewards upon defeat.
7. Who or what were Margonites, before being transformed into the demonic servants of Abaddon?

Answer: Humans

Originally, the Margonites sailed the Unending Ocean as a race of seafaring people, shunning the Five Gods in favour of worshiping Abaddon instead. As the years bore on, they settled in the Tyrian Crystal Desert and the stretch of land between there and Elona.

The Flameseeker Prophecy speaks of Ascension, a process where one is imbued with the blessing of the gods after completing several tests. The Margonites, however, did not realise this and took a more literal approach to ascension, creating huge towers in an effort to reach for the skies and beyond.

Their attempts inevitably failed, and the Margonite race became fully fledged servants of Abaddon as his power over them grew. They were able to enter Elona during the events of "Nightfall" through the bleeding effects of the Realm of Torment.
8. Do the explorable areas of the Realm of Torment count towards the Elonian Grandmaster Cartographer title?

Answer: No

The Realm of Torment is not a part of Elona, and therefore does not contribute to the cartography title. The only regions which count are Istan, Kourna, Vabbi and the Desolation. Similarly, the Vanquisher title only counts these four areas - clearing out the Torment areas in hard mode, which can be done, does not contribute to the title.

The missions, however, do count towards the Protector and Guardian titles.
9. Both found in the Domain of Anguish, Anur Tuk and Anur Mank Margonites are of which profession?

Answer: Ranger

The Anur Margonites are the elite soldiers of Abaddon, inhabiting the desolate and dangerous plateaus of the Domain of Anguish. The Anur Tuk Margonites focus on nature rituals and Wilderness Survival skills, whereas their Anur Mank counterparts prefer dishing out the damage with bows and their range of powerful archery skills. All Anur are capable of dropping Margonite Gemstones, which can be put towards purchasing some rare and valuable high-level items.
10. In the final battle against Abaddon in the Abaddon's Gate mission, which other creatures do you fight, as well as Abaddon?

Answer: Graven Monoliths

Upon beginning the mission, players will travel along a darkened pathway until they reach a bridge leading to the main landmass where Abaddon resides. In order to attack Abaddon directly, he must be restrained first by destroying the Graven Monoliths guarding the binding points at both his bands and his head.

When he is restrained, he will lower his head and a brief window will open in which the party must lay down as much damage as they can to him before he releases himself from his restraints and the Graven Monoliths respawn. Torment Claws also make an appearance in the mission, springing up from the ground at certain points to severely damage the party if they are not dealt with quickly.

When Abaddon is finally slain, the party will be transported to the Throne of Secrets after a short cinematic involving Kormir.
