Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The wurm-like creatures 'tamed' in the Gate of Desolation mission are called what?

Answer: Junundu

The yellow haze that covers a large amount of the Desolation will cause instant death to any humans who wander into it. However, with the aid of the Junundu, the humans can cross these expanses inside the wurms to safety. But before this can happen, the queen, Aijundu, must be defeated in the Gate of Desolation mission.
2. Which of these explorable areas is NOT in the Desolation?

Answer: Turai's Procession

Turai's Procession is accessed from the southern exit of the Gate of Desolation, and is part of Kourna. The Vabbian area of Vehjin Mines also joins up with the Desolation via the Basalt Grotto.
3. Which outpost links Vehjin Mines with Joko's Domain?

Answer: Basalt Grotto

The Basalt Grotto is a sort of underground passage linking Vabbi with the Desolation, and was used extensively by Palawa Joko during his invasion. It is an optional outpost, and does not need to be visited in order to complete the main storyline.
4. Graven Monoliths will never reform their carvings into which of these professions?

Answer: Necromancer

Most commonly, Graven Monoliths will be Mesmers, and they will turn into a Mesmer when they are alone and being attacked. When they are low on health, they will reform into a Dervish. If they are within earshot of other Graven Monoliths, they will assume the form of a Paragon.
5. The Staff of the Mists is found in which explorable area?

Answer: Poisoned Outcrops

Dubbed Elonian version of the Scepter of Orr, the Staff of the Mists is featured in a quest chain taking place primarily in Poisoned Outcrops. The Staff is a powerful artifact in the hands of a Margonite boss, and it must be taken and disposed of before any damage is done.
6. What type of mission is Remains of Sahlahja?

Answer: Challenge mission

In this challenge mission, you take control of a Junundu, and must kill as many foes as you can before you die. Infestations and Greater Infestations litter the area, and occasionally Maddened Spirits, who are invincible, will try to attack you. The only way to kill them is by killing a Greater Infestation, which will grant you the temporary Spirit Form, allowing you to kill Maddened Spirits.
7. Lair of the Forgotten connects which two explorable areas?

Answer: The Shattered Ravines & Poisoned Outcrops

You can complete the storyline without even visiting Lair of the Forgotten, as with the Basalt Grotto. It serves as a connection between The Shattered Ravines and Poisoned Outcrops. According to the game lore, and as indicated by the name, this outpost was once the ancestral home of the Forgotten, but the influence of the nearby Realm of Torment had slowly destroyed it.
8. Which profession is Prophet Varesh?

Answer: Dervish

Varesh is fought during the Ruins of Morah mission, and the fight consists of two stages. The first is with Prophet Varesh, a Dervish, who uses a powerful arsenal of skills to try and take you down. The second stage occurs when Prophet Varesh is killed, and Abaddon resurrects her as a Margonite, becoming Commander Varesh, a Paragon. Upon slaying the Commander, the mission will end and players will be whisked off to the Realm of Torment.
9. In which explorable area can you access The Arid Sea in the Tyrian Crystal Desert?

Answer: Crystal Overlook

The name says it all, really. By going through the Crystal Overlook to the northern edge, you can find a Forgotten Guardian who will offer to transport your party to The Arid Sea in Tyria, provided, of course, that you have the "Prophecies" campaign and your character has visited The Amnoon Oasis already. If you look out across the plains towards Tyria, you can see the female statue found in the Arid Sea.
10. What colour does the portal to the Realm of Torment appear on the map?

Answer: Purple

The Realm of Torment is the final region in "Nightfall", and is the domain of the exiled god Abaddon. The foes are harder, the missions are tougher, and the persistent negative environmental effects will test you and your party's skills.
