Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In what Mario game was Rainbow Road first able to be raced on?

Answer: Super Mario Kart

Ah, yes, Rainbow Road, the bright, multi-colored course with no edges. It's a pretty tough course. Rainbow Road is in the Special Cup which is unlocked after getting a gold trophy in all of the other three cups. It's pretty tough to go through the whole course without falling off the edges or hitting a Thwomp.
2. What Mario game features strange creatures coming out of a sewer system and is divided into phases?

Answer: Mario Brothers

This is the classic Mario game. The object is to defeat all the creatures in each phase. These creatures can be stunned by jumping on the floor beneath them or using the POW button. Then you just have to kick them away. Sounds simple, right? Wrong. Fireballs and falling ice crystals eventually appear to make your life more difficult.
3. In which racing game are there battle stages called Block Fort and Skyscraper?

Answer: Mario Kart 64

The object of battling is to hit your opponent(s) three times with items collected from question mark blocks. Some items can be used as projectiles, such as red shells and green shells, and others can be set on the course with hopes that your opponent will run into them. These items include bananas and fake question mark blocks.
4. In what Mario game does Cackletta supposedly steal Princess Peach's voice?

Answer: Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga

Cackletta disguises herself as the Beanbean Kingdom ambassador and steals "Peach's" voice using her pupil Fawful's helmet. Later on, they discover Beanbean Kingdom's prince had warned Peach of Cackletta's plan and she had had enough time to hide. Cackletta, instead, stole Birdo's voice! Cackletta's intention was to awaken the Beanstar with a pure voice so it could grant all of her wishes.
5. In what Mario game are there settings such as Yoshi's Island, Donut Plains, Vanilla Dome, and Star World?

Answer: Super Mario World

Bowser has kidnapped the Princess again, so it looks like it's up to Mario (and maybe Luigi) to save the princess from Bowser's evil clutches. They start on Yoshi's Island and progress on to Donut Plains after beating the first castle. They can either go on to Vanilla Lake, or find a secret entrance into Star World.

After that, they still must find their way through more lands to resue their princess!
6. In what Mario racing game can two characters race in each car?

Answer: Mario Kart: Double Dash

Two characters can race in each car in the game. They can switch positions easily and throw items. A bonus is that each group of characters has their own special items. They are similar to worlds one through eight because they have a castle at the end of each level, but are a bit more difficult.
11. In what Mario game do you face an impostor King Koopa at the end of each of the first seven worlds?

Answer: Super Mario Brothers

At the end of the first seven worlds, you face King Koopa (supposedly) at the end of each castle. However, you will find that he is fake when you either defeat him with fireballs or send him straight into the lava. The real Bowser can be found at the very end of World 8-4.
