Answer: Hot Springs

The Hot Springs don't actually help you much in your quest, but you can still wade in the water. Also, near the pool there's a lady that will give you an egg that will hatch into a Wynaut.

Answer: Fire

Flannery has three Pokémon: two Slugmas and a Torkoal. She really enjoys using the move Overheat which does a lot of damage the first few times, but also decreases the Pokémon's Special Attack every time it's used. Unfortunately, she has three Pokémon she can drain the Special Attack points from, and that's a lot of damage being dealt that way. You'll get TM 50 (Overheat) once you have beaten her and will then be able to use the attack on new opponents (all stats are returned to normal after every battle, so don't worry about running low on Special Attack points).

After beating Flannery, she'll give you the Heat Badge, which allows you to use Strength in the field (now you can finish exploring Fiery Path).

Answer: Onix

Baltoy and its evolved form, Claydol, are both Ground/Psychic. Trapinch is pure Ground, but both its evoled forms, Vibrava and Flygon, are Ground/Dragon. Cacnea is the only one that isn't at least part Ground (It's pure Grass) but it does have an ability that renders it impervious to sandstorms, along with Cacturn, its evolved form. Onix can't be found in these games.

Answer: Root Fossil

Once you take one fossil, the other will sink into the ground where you won't be able to get it. Take the fossil you have to the Devon Corporation in Rustboro City. A man on the second floor will tell you that he will be able to recreate a Pokémon using the fossil.

The Root Fossil will become a Lileep, a Rock/Bug Pokémon that can evolve into a Cradily. The Claw Fossil will become an Anorith. Anorith, and its evolved form, Armaldo, are both Rock/Bug.

Answer: Three

There are two rooms with Delcatty, three rooms with Linoone, and two rooms with Zangoose. You'll have to battle at least one of each of these Pokémon.

Answer: Balance Badge

The Balance Badge increases the defensive power of all your Pokémon and allows you to use Surf in the field. A whole bunch of areas are now open, both the main route and numerous side-quests.

Answer: Wally's Parents

Wally's parents are glad the Wally got better in Verdanturf Town, and that he seemed to be happier with his Pokémon. They thank you for helping Wally catch his Pokémon and reward you with HM 03 (Surf).

Answer: New Mauville

New Mauville is a maze with two different door styles. When you step on a blue switch, the blue doors open. When you step on a green switch, the green doors open, but the blue ones shut, and vice versa. There are a few Pokémon down here and some may be a little tougher than what you're looking for right now, so come prepared with a Ground type Pokémon.

Answer: Watson

Watson is the Gym Leader of Mauville City (you already have his badge). He'll be standing outside when you see him and he'll ask you to shut off the generator that's been acting up in New Mauville. You'll have to use Surf to get across the water on Route 110. You'll find a small cave on the eastern side of the route. Inside is a large, heavy door. Insert the key, and you're in.

Answer: Good Rod

The Good Rod will be a welcome item after using the Old Rod for so long. The Good Rod can catch a much larger variety of Pokémon as well as higher leveled ones.
