"Space Quest II: Vohaul's Revenge" Quiz

Answer: orbital station

At the beginning of the game, Wilco was sweeping the deck outside of Xenon Orbital Station 4. All of the sudden, his alarm on his wrist watch went off for a message from his boss. Apparently, a passenger got space-sick on the way into the station and Wilco was sent to go clean it up.

Answer: just walked to it

Since Wilco was outside in outer space, all he had to do was just walk to the hatch that was located above him. However, if he drifted too far away from the deck he lost his gravitational hold of the station and floated away. When he reached the hatch, the hatch automatically opened up and threw him inside the station.

Answer: Yes

After Wilco made his way to the ship in question, he boarded it and was met by two guards who had stowed away on it. They knocked him unconscious and, in the next scene, he was hauled away to the planet of Labian, which was a mine planet owned by Vohaul.

However, the guards were dumb enough to not fill the hovercraft all the way with fuel and it crashed shortly afterwards; killing both guards.

Answer: Yes

Wilco survived the crash, but the two guards did not. After the crash, there was a beeping noise emitting from the wrecked hovercraft. This was an emergency signal sent out to alert the other guards to find Wilco and shoot him and kill him. While walking around this planet, he finds many interesting things such as a root monster which had an interesting maze he had to walk through and be careful not to step on the roots.

He also saw man-eating mushrooms and a little red guy who always looked at him differently after Wilco saved him from death.

He also saw a mailbox where he put his order form in for a Labian Terror Beast whistle which he knew would come in handy.

Answer: berries

In order to get through the swamp, he had to get these odoriferous berries which did not set well with swamp monsters. The monster would try and eat him, but soon spit him out and swam away. The berries were only accessible by Wilco getting through the maze caused by the root monster.

Answer: gem

Wilco found a glowing gem in an underground cave under the swamp. After nearly falling into a ravine and escaping from an oaf who wanted him for dinner, literally, he used the gem's glow to guide him through two different cave mazes. One dumped him at the bottom of the ravine and the other was shown to him by the little red man's buddies in thanks for saving one of their own. Once he got through the latter of the two, he was in an underground river.

This river led to a fork in the path. One path took him into a whirlpool and spit him out just below the pad for Vohaul's kidnapper's ship.

Answer: Cubix Rube

In order to get through the big rock, Wilco blew the whistle for the Labian Terror Beast. The Beast was a spoof of "Looney Tunes" Tazmanian Devil. Because the beast was looking for his supposed mate, he was spinning around wildly. Wilco chucked his Cubix Rube (spoof of the Rubix Cube) out to distract the beast. The beast picked up the Cubix Rube puzzle and began to work on it. While he was distracted, Wilco was able to escape through the hole in the rock where the beast buzzed through. On the way, Wilco grabbed a pebble from the debris to use it against the guard at the landing pad.

Answer: Wilco lifted off

Once Wilco disabled the guard at the landing pad, he climbed into the ship. Once inside, he turned a knob, pushed a button, moved back on the joystick and the ship lifted off the ground all the way into space. After he got into space again, he turned the knob again to allow the ship forward and backward movement.

He had control of it for awhile until Vohaul knew he was in the ship. After some threats by Vohaul, the ship was under remote control from Vohaul. Wilco was along for the ride and could not do anything about it. The ship went automatically into Vohaul's asteroid fortress and landed inside.

Since there was no floor number two in Vohaul's fortress, Wilco had three floors to look in closets on. Since he was a janitor, closets were his life. He did, on occasion, have to be aware of a menacing automatic floor waxer. If he got caught in it's path, he would be part of the floor.

In the closets, he found things such as a wastebasket, lighter, plunger, glass cutter, and toilet paper. You might say he was like a MacGyver when it came to what items he had on him.

Answer: started a fire

After having to use a plunger to suction himself to a wall because of a trap, Wilco started a fire to activate the sprinkler system. The subsequent water caused the "burnishing bullies" to short out and not activate them. Wilco was then safe to go into Vohaul's lair.

Answer: he was minimized and placed in a jar

Vohaul activated his laser beam which would minimize Wilco and place him into a glass jar on his desk. After taunting Wilco about being helpless and going back to his work, Wilco used the glass cutter to cut his way out of the jar.

Answer: he turned off Vohaul's ventilator

Vohaul was on a ventilator and if it was shut off, it killed him. Wilco, after cutting his way through the jar, climbed inside of Vohaul's ventilator and pushed the button to shut it off. He then went to the computer keyboard and typed in "Enlarge". After returning back to the jar, he was then magnified back to normal and had to hurry to save his planet.

Answer: to infest the planet Xenon with door-to-door insurance salesmen

Vohaul's plan was supposed to be to infest the planet Xenon with door-to-door insurance salesmen. This was his revenge at Wilco for destroying plans in Space Quest I: The Sarien Encounter. These salesmen were to be pushy and annoying and never give up on a sale. Vohaul, before he died, had activated the countdown for the launch. Wilco found the code on Vohaul's hand and was able to stop the countdown. Now, Wilco had to save himself because the fortress was going into a meltdown.

Depending on how you played the game, it could be all three. If you had Wilco escape in the pod, he would've found the chamber that would sustain his life and put him into a deep sleep. If you didn't escape in time, you would burn up with the fortress. If you didn't get Wilco to the chamber on the pod in time, he would choke to death because of lack of oxygen. Congratulations if you got him to sleep, though.

He lived to fight another mess another day!
