Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "Destrega", you could unlock costumes for all characters that were worn by characters from what other game?

Answer: Dynasty Warriors

Both of these games were created by KOEI. "Destrega" was a rare fighting game which mostly utilizes use of magical projectiles, spawned by the characters' Strega powers, though when close, the characters would engage in hand-to-hand combat.
2. What game puts you in the role of not a human, not a superhuman, not an animal, but a beach ball?

Answer: Kula World

This game is known as "KulaQuest" in Japan and "Roll Away" in the US. It's a fun and addictive puzzle game, in which you control a beach ball rolling along in a stage filled with a set of blocks you must traverse in order to collect many different items, the most important ones being keys that unlock the passage to the next level.
3. Though "Chrono Trigger" was a originally a SNES game (later it was ported to the Playstation and DS), its sequel is on the Playstation. What is it called?

Answer: Chrono Cross

First released in 1999 on the Japanese market, "Chrono Cross" met pretty mixed reactions due to gameplay being quite different than the original, though it received generally good reviews. It was released in 2000 for the US market, and has been subsequently re-released as part of "Greatest Hits" and other collector editions.
4. Which of these in not an acquirable license in "Gran Turismo 2"?

Answer: D License

You could get Bronze, Silver or Gold rank of every license test. You would need to score as good as you can on the license tests in order to get access to the really great cars in the game.
5. In "World Soccer Winning Eleven 2002", which of the following countries did NOT have an All-star Classical team?

Answer: Spain

Spain, unlike a lot of other European countries, does not have an All-star team in this game. To unlock the All-star teams for England and Germany, you would have to beat the European cup with their respective countries. Same goes for Brazil, except that you have to beat the American Cup, of course.
6. "Pool Party" is a selectable stage in "X-Men: Mutant Academy".

Answer: False

This stage is available only in the sequel, "X-Men: Mutant Academy 2". when this stage is chosen, the fighters' costumes would most often change into swimsuits, or other similar outfits, and would also replace various miscellaneous items the characters have for something else (e.g. Nightcrawler has a spatula instead of a sword).
7. What is the name of the protagonist in the game "MediEvil"?

Answer: Daniel Fortesque

Not even death can stop Sir Daniel Fortesque from dealing with evil sorcerers if need be! This funny and entertaining action-adventure game was released in 1998.
8. Could you play as Sakura in "Street Fighter EX2 Plus"?

Answer: No

The "Street Fighter EX" series was made in a cooperative effort between Arika and Capcom, for the first time introducing "Street Fighter" to 3D graphics. Although Sakura was playable in the original game, as well as in "Street Fighter EX3", she is absent from this game.
9. In the "Bust a Groove" games, what would occur at the end of the stage if the player scored a high enough difference in points between their opponent?

Answer: Fever Time

Fever Time involved the player doing an encore dance, of sorts, to a special short tune played at the end of the stage (provided the score requirement was met, of course). Also, during Fever Time, the other player would mysteriously disappear, though on certain occasions they would do an encore dance with you.
10. What was the name of the starting village in "Tomba!"?

Answer: The Village of All Beginnings

Ah, good ol' Tomba. The game begins with him falling into this very village (quite the appropriate name for a starting location, don't you think?) in search of his grandpa's bracelet. This fun fun platformer game was released in 1997 in Japan under the name "Ore! Tomba" and in 1998 in the US and Europe (it was called Tombi! in Europe).

11. What was the name of "Digimon World 3" in the PAL region?

Answer: Digimon World 2003

This was done to avoid confusion, since the previous game, "Digimon World 2", was never released in this region. "Digimon World 2003" had several differences compared to the NTSC version, most notably the continuance of the storyline after the defeat of Gallacticmon.
12. Which character is the mascot of the "Twisted Metal" games?

Answer: Sweet Tooth

The character of Sweet Tooth has been featured on almost every cover of a "Twisted Metal" game. Calypso and Roadkill are ones of the more notable characters in the series, but not so much as Sweet Tooth. Till Lindeman is the vocalist of the German rock/industrial metal band "Rammstein" and has no real connection to the "Twisted Metal" games.
13. "Final Fantasy 7" was originally released on how many CDs?

Answer: 3

"Final Fantasy 7" is one of the most praised games, if not THE most praised game, for the Playstation, both for it's good gameplay and its touching story. It was developed and published by the legendary RPG veterans, SquareSoft, in 1997.
14. Who were the bonus characters in the Playstation version of "Tekken 3"?

Answer: Gon & Doctor B.

Gon was unlocked by either beating him in "Tekken Ball" mode, or by ranking in the top ten of the "Survivor" and "Time Attack" modes and entering your name as "GON". Doctor B. was unlocked by beating "Tekken Force" three times to earn the copper, Silver and Gold keys, and then once more to face Doctor B. in the fifth stage. Anna Williams is also a fully playable character in the home version of "Tekken 3", whereas in the arcade, she was only an alternate costume for Nina Williams.
15. Which platformer character was at one time proclaimed the "Playstation" mascot?

Answer: Crash Bandicoot

Crash Bandicoot made his appearance in five different Playstation games, three of which were part of his platformer series. The Crash Bandicoot games received such good reviews and overall popularity that fans (and even websites and magazines) dubbed Crash "The Playstation mascot", on par with Nintendo's Mario and Sega's Sonic.
