Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who is the lady that takes Mario onto her comet observatory to help her find the power stars?

Answer: Rosalina

Rosalina's Lumas find Mario stranded on a planet. They decide to test him by playing hide and seek. Once Mario has found them all, they take him to Rosalina
and she asks Mario to help find the missing power stars.
2. Which Toad is the brightest and gives Mario useful information?

Answer: Blue

The blue toad tells Mario information most of the times you meet him.
He seems to know everything about space, and he will give you lots of
information on how to pass through levels (in a few words, that is).
3. Which galaxy is a heaven of toys?

Answer: Toy Time Galaxy

Toy Time Galaxy appears to be a giant playroom. It has toys as far as the
eye can see. It even has two toy bosses! In Star 3, Mario will traverse
down a lane of cakes, over ice creams, oranges, lollipops, and even snow cones!
4. How many different stars are there in the game in total?

Answer: 121

This game has 120 normal stars and 1 bonus star. The bonus star is in the Grand Finale Galaxy, which is unlocked after collecting the previous 120 stars. In this galaxy, the only mission involves gathering purple coins.
5. What is the most common power-up in the game?

Answer: Bee Mushroom

There are more Bee Mushrooms than any other power-up. The Red Star is only used
in a purple coin mission in the Gateway Galaxy, and on the comet observatory. The Starman is found in several galaxies, and temporarily grants Mario invincibility, but is not as common as the Bee Mushroom. The Boo Mushroom first appears in Ghostly Galaxy.
6. How many 1-Ups are hidden around the Comet Observatory?

Answer: Five

Three of the five 1-Ups can be found without the use of the Red Star. The two remaining 1-Ups are positioned underneath the Gate and at the very top of the Comet Observatory, and therefore require the Red Star to reach.
7. What happens when you get 99 lives in the game?

Answer: Nothing

Nothing happens when you get 99 lives in "Super Mario Galaxy". In "New Super Mario Bros. Wii", however, you lose your hat when you get 99 lives.
8. How many stages are there in the final battle against Bowser?

Answer: Three

The first stage consists of Bowser turning into a rock and Mario has to try and spin-attack Bowser's exposed head. The second stage sees Bowser hiding in his shell and Mario must use a heavy plant to stun him. Mario's main goal in the third and final stage is to get Bowser to ground-pound blue panels to set his tail on fire, making him vulnerable.
9. Which dome has the least amount of galaxies?

Answer: Garden

The Garden is a hidden dome on the top of the observatory. The galaxies in it are Dreadnought Galaxy, Matter Splatter Galaxy, Melty Molten Galaxy, Deep Dark Galaxy, and Snow Cap Galaxy.
10. In which year was "Super Mario Galaxy" released?

Answer: 2007

"Super Mario Galaxy" was released around the world during 2007, to extremely positive reviews. In 2010, a sequel, "Super Mario Galaxy 2", was released.
