Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which zone contains the Dark Portal, the entrance to the Outlands from Azeroth?

Answer: Blasted Lands

If you decide that you'd rather not ask for a portal to take you to Shattrath City, the Dark Portal in the southeast corner of the Blasted Lands is a fairly direct route to the Stair of Destiny on the eastern edge of Hellfire Peninsula. This small area is home to a rather large battle. On the Outlands side of the portal are large demons who mark the beginning of the fight you'll immerse yourself in as you progress through the "Burning Crusade" expansion.

Although both Alliance players can take immediate flightpaths to their respective major towns, the Stair of Destiny soon tracks itself across the middle of the zone becoming the Path of Glory.
2. Is Thrallmar north or south of the Path of Glory?

Answer: North

Thrallmar is a relatively important quest hub for Horde players in Hellfire Peninsula. Any Horde characters emerging from the Dark Portal to the east will be able to take a flightpath immediately from the Stair of Destiny to Thrallmar to begin fighting and questing in the zone. Containing an inn, one of many flightpaths for the area, and most of the trainers needed, the city sits on the northern edge of the Path of Glory, just down the road from Reaver's Fall atop a nearby hill. Nazgrel leads the city from inside the largest building with a number of other quest-givers. Most of their quests here are for players exploring the Path of Glory and everything north of it going as far west as Falcon Watch.
3. You are a member of the Alliance. If you take the flightpath directly from the Stair of Destiny for the first time, where will you end up?

Answer: Honor Hold

Honor Hold is the seemingly-twin-city of Thrallmar in the sense that Alliance players head to one while Horde players head to the other. Thrallmar rests on the northern side of the Path of Glory while Honor Hold is a similar distance from the southern side of the same area. Similar to Thrallmar, Honor Hold contains a large number of NPC questgivers, traders, trainers- the works. Quests for players from level 58 through to 63 are handed out by the barrelful and then the inevitable level 70 quests are also dished out upon a later visit. Danath Trollbane controls the Alliance's war efforts from this post near the Dark Portal.
4. There are three capturable World PvP locations in Hellfire Peninsula. Which is not one of them?

Answer: The Arena

All of these three locations, each very close to one another, can be found slightly west of the Hellfire Citadel at the end of the Path of Glory. Both Alliance and Horde players can easily take one or the others over on their own, but occasionally factions will clash in battle over their rightful territory. Both factions can obtain a quest in either Thrallmar or Honor Hold called 'Hellfire Fortifications' in which they need to capture all three of these locations for their faction for a reward. Players must have PvP toggled on (if it isn't already) to complete the quest and claim an Insignia.
5. Crossing through Spinebreaker Pass will take you to what cliffside location?

Answer: Void Ridge

In the southeast end of Hellfire Peninsula, players can either hightail it through The Legion Front just to the west of the Dark Portal and the Stair of Destiny, or they can make their way to the eastern end of Zeth'Gor's ruins and cavern to find Spinebreaker Pass, a narrow chasm which leads to the ends of the peninsula, one darkened and filled with Voidwalker enemies of different types.

Some of the quests here simply require you to pick up the drops off these quick-to-respawn, exploding enemies, but one quest requires you to summon and destroy Void Baron Galaxis, a level 63 creature.

The quests for these can be obtained from the nearby Spinebreaker Post for Horde players only.
6. Falcon Watch is a Horde outpost. Which of these is the corresponding Alliance village?

Answer: Temple of Telhamat

Both of these locations are found in the western end of Hellfire Peninsula with Falcon Watch being on the western side of Hellfire Citadel and the Temple of Telhamat to the north near the Pools of Aggonar. Both contain the majority of quests given to players making their way out of the zone whether they're exploring the Den of Haal'esh, the Pools of Aggonar, or the flatlands surrounding Cenarion Post. Both of these outposts are flightpath locations, and each of these is one of the earliest of said services to fly to Shattrath City. Ranger Captain Venn'ren takes care of Falcon Watch while the Temple of Telhamat is led by a number of Draenei.
7. The Ruins of Sha'Naar are guarded by which elite boss?

Answer: Arzeth the Merciless

This location in the southwestern corner of Hellfire Peninsula is ventured into by both Alliance and Horde players for later quests in the zone. Although some of the quests here are found in Cenarion Post, players can find a number of them within the ruins themselves. Arzeth the Merciless is a level 63 elite Doomguard who walks up and down the main path in the Ruins of Sha'Naar. Players can receive a quest called 'Arzeth's Demise' from the friendly, trapped NPC Naladu who waits in his cage on the far side of the ruins.

The large slavers here will attack when they see you, but when you defeat them, their slaves will be set free.
8. Zangarmarsh borders Hellfire Peninsula to the west. What area connects to the south?

Answer: Terokkar Forest

Terokkar Forest is the early zone which contains the all-important Shattrath City, the base of operations for all Outlands questers and the "Burning Crusade" expansion. Both Terokkar Forest to the south and Zangarmarsh to the west are meant to bring characters past the level range experienced through the hundred-or-so quests in Hellfire Peninsula; both are for levels 60-65(-ish). Contrasting the Peninsular, Terokkar is a rather lush forested area while Zangarmarsh is a rather open bog which stretches across to the western edge of Outlands.

The two areas connect with each other at one corner as well.
9. How many different instance dungeons/raids can be found in the Hellfire Citadel?

Answer: Four

Found directly in the center of Hellfire Peninsula at the end of the Path of Glory, players can enter the Hellfire Citadel at four different locations. A choice can be made for exploring the Hellfire Ramparts, the Blood Furnace, the Shattered Halls, and Magtheridon's Lair, the former two of which are for newer players to the Outlands (quite possibly the earliest of instances in the expansion) and the latter of which are for players above level 70. Magtheridon's Lair is actually a raid instance as opposed to an instanced dungeon. Most of the quests for these dungeons are found in the eastern towns of both Alliance and Horde in the zone.
10. Without a Captured Legion Scroll, what is the only way to access the Throne of Kil'jaeden?

Answer: Flying Mount

The Throne of Kil'jaeden is the only area in all of the Hellfire Peninsula to be inaccessible from the get-go. Players who need to reach this area must use a flying mount (or the less convenient Captured Legion Scroll) in order to enter- there is no way in or out otherwise. Doom Lord Kazzak waits inside the fortress constructed here though you can't actually attempt quests here (both regular and daily) until you've reached the "Burning Crusade" level cap, level 70.

The Burning Legion is stationed at the Throne of Kil'jaeden.
