Question 1 of 10
1. Seeing the scenic Bionis' Leg for the first time is thrilling. This is also coupled with hearing the "Gaur Plains" soundtrack which magnifies the breadth of the experience. It all feels very nice as you are running around the plains. However, what level 81 monster is infamous for roaming the Gaur Plains sub-area and (likely) attacking the party? Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. Even when physical attacks (or even the Monado I) are ineffective on Mechon, what status effect, if inflicted, still lets you damage them physically? Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. Most Arts that the party uses we don't get to see in the narrative. However, one of Melia's Arts is used quite a lot in the game. It's used to destroy multiple Telethias and even turns the tide in the Valaak Mountain battle against Metal Face. Visually it's a yellow, blurring beam emitted from Melia's hand. Which Art is it? Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. Finish Dunban's battle quote:

"Born in a world of strife. Against the odds! We choose to fight!

Question 5 of 10
5. Which of these ENEMIES can perform a chain attack (in a group)? Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. Which gem gives resistance to ALL debuffs (note that this doesn't include blow-down, topple, or daze since those are statuses)? Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. What location is notable for having mainly lower-level enemies in the day (Level 20-30), but then generally spawning incredibly high level enemies at night (Level 70 and higher)? Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. Which weapon saliently has a 75% critical rate, making it the only weapon to possibly achieve a 100% critical through gems/skill trees? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. What is the only Art in the game that is so strong and devastating that (when seen in a vision) it incites a mid-battle quest asking to stop it--an Art that causes INFINITE damage and has world-destroying strength? Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. Scaling up to the entrance of Three Sage Summit, you can notice some Slobos. However, venturing a little further, a blizzard sets in--and from the sky, a giant dragon, its mouth gushing with flames, lands to attack you. You try hitting it, but you instantly DIE (there has to be some gem for this!). It's a level 120 monster--the strongest enemy in the entire game. Who is it? Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts

Answer: Territorial Rotbart

Some of the unique monster names are difficult to remember since most of them are just slapped on the monster. But Rotbart is easily remembered since many players are surprised and attacked by him early in the game. Additionally, his name fits himself too. He's notorious among most players.

The element that makes it easy for players to inadvertently run into Rotbart is that (1) the path he roams crosses a common path that players take and (2) he's a monster about the same level as the final boss around level 13-17 enemies, so players aren't on guard for such a threat.
2. Even when physical attacks (or even the Monado I) are ineffective on Mechon, what status effect, if inflicted, still lets you damage them physically?

Answer: Topple

Toppling is the status that allows for any physical hits to be effective against Mechon.

Break only allows Mechon to be susceptible to topple, not susceptible to physical hits.

Using this method is crucial for defeating some of the Faced-Mechon battles earlier in the game.

Answer: Mind Blast

She first shows this Art right before the fight against the Leone Telethia; consequently the Art is available to use in the fight.

It's likely the most shown Art in the cut scenes of the game. Melia saves it for the most crucial times and also uses it to put Telethias to rest.

Its battle effect is removing auras and inflicting the Arts Seal status. Mind Blast definitely finds its niche as it's one of the few Arts that can remove Auras, which is great against higher level enemies (notably over/around level 100) that use Awakening and Crazed auras.
4. Finish Dunban's battle quote: "Born in a world of strife. Against the odds! We choose to fight! _______ _____!"

Answer: Blossom Dance

Blossom Dance, (which is the Art this quote is from), has everything going for it honestly:

Well, as seen by the question, it's spirited, climactic, and overall sounds well.

And in actual game-play it's also very good. Blossom Dance is a five-hit attack (3rd phase does two strikes) that's wholly one of the strongest moves in the game. Use in a high multiplier Chain Attack to really see it shine (this also negates the drawback of how long the move takes too).
5. Which of these ENEMIES can perform a chain attack (in a group)?

Answer: Tirkin/Chilkin

Notably, if you are fighting a group of Chilkins or Tirkins for a while, a red lining will appear that connects the 3 enemy chain attack members together (like the blue lining that appears when Shulk & co.'s party gauge is full). After this, your party will freeze, and you will be hit with the actual Chain Attack.

Other species that can do Chain Attacks are Gogols, Ignas, Hodes and more. The story exclusive High Entia Bionite enemies can also do the technique.
6. Which gem gives resistance to ALL debuffs (note that this doesn't include blow-down, topple, or daze since those are statuses)?

Answer: Debuff Resist

Divine Protect only gives resistance to one debuff, while the other two don't provide resistance to debuffs at all.

Debuff resist is an invaluable gem, it protects against EVERY debuff. Poison, Sleep, Blaze, Bleed, Paralysis and much more! The humorous part is that there are dedicated gems such as Slow Resist and Sleep Resist that are completely outclassed by Debuff Resist, since Debuff Resist can do both both their jobs and much more.
7. What location is notable for having mainly lower-level enemies in the day (Level 20-30), but then generally spawning incredibly high level enemies at night (Level 70 and higher)?

Answer: Satorl Marsh

The other locations' enemy levels mostly stay constant going into the night. However, in Satorl, a whole bunch of strong enemies come out during night.
Examples:
The Coppice Quadwings (lvl 23-24) and switched for Grove Quadwings (lvl 81-82).
The Satorl Volves leave for Green Ferises (lvl 79-85).
Mist Rhogals (lvl 25) are switched for Satorl Rhoguls (lvl 84-85).
Also, the Despotic Arsene (lvl 108) comes out at night.
8. Which weapon saliently has a 75% critical rate, making it the only weapon to possibly achieve a 100% critical through gems/skill trees?

Answer: Monado III

The Wyvern Cutlass, Conviction Blades, and Monapon have a critical rate of 15%, 15%, and 30% respectively. So with all the augmentation in the game, they can't get close to 100%.

Why is this important? Because critical hits have huge effects on the game. They increase damage by 1.25, give you a chance for burst affinity, raise the party gauge, and also raise tension!
9. What is the only Art in the game that is so strong and devastating that (when seen in a vision) it incites a mid-battle quest asking to stop it--an Art that causes INFINITE damage and has world-destroying strength?

Answer: Egil's Bionis Slash X

"The roar of the Mechonis is the wrath of my people!"-Egil.

And he was right. This is probably the most notable move in the game. It's used by Egil in Mechonis Core. This move, if successful, would KILL the Bionis. As mentioned, it's seen in a vision, which is probably the most frightening vision in the game.

After that, the player is given a quest with 120 seconds limit to stop the move, by defeating the Energy Device enemies around Egil.
Who is it?

Answer: Avalanche Abaasy

If you met this monster the way the question described it, I am sympathetic.

The most surprising aspect of this monster is that it has an instant-death spike, which makes it virtually untouchable without debuff resist (I told you it was invaluable!) or divine protect gems.

This monster also has the most HP and some of the strongest attacks (and strongest single attack not counting Bionis Slash X) in the game. It also has a Craze aura and an Awakening aura.
