Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. When the Mechon attack in the beginning of the game, all enemies are susceptible to the legendary Monado, especially Mechon. However, a large faced mechon, Metal Face, enters and the Monado has no effect. What is Shulk's accurate prediction of why the Monado has no effect?

Answer: The red light outlining the mechon nullifies the effect of the monado

This was actually an incredibly accurate prediction. In this point of the game, it's shown that the Monado cannot harm Homs. The faced Mechon's red light on its armour, revealed much later, is Homs' blood. Therefore, the Monado has no effect. This is a major plot device that directs major events later.
2. In the next major battle with the Mechon (after Xord), we see Metal Face cornering the party with many other Mechon and Faced Mechon. Who INDIRECTLY aids Shulk in the fight?

Answer: Alvis

This was a cinematic, yet mysterious scene where the entire fight is turned around by a Telethia out of now where. After the fight, unbeknownst to the party, the Telethia returns to Alvis.

Alvis is a major recurring character throughout the rest of the game. He is also a Homs.
3. Next, while the party is entering the Makna forest, we see a scene of Melia fighting the Leone Telethia. Later, the party finds an unconscious Melia. What is she suffering from as suggested by Sharla?

Answer: Ether deficiency

Melia was diagnosed by Sharla to have ether deficiency, so Shulk goes to get pure water ether crystals to heal her.

It's revealed later that her ether deficiency is caused by the recent low ether levels in Makna forest. And who caused this? Yes, the Leone Telethia itself actually was sapping the abundant amount of ether from the environment the whole time, using it to amplify its power.
4. Who plans and orders the assassination of Melia?

Answer: Yumea

The First Consort, Yumea, is part of the cultist group, the Bionite order. She's disgusted by the idea of mixed-blooded High Entia, especially for the position of the successor to the throne. Melia, being half-Homs, is targeted by her.
5. This next major scene is incredibly dramatic. On top of Prison Island, we see many, many scenes that develop the story. Which one of these did not happen on Prison Island?

Answer: The Monado unlocks all its Monado Arts (all 8 arts)

The Monado has all its current Arts levels unlocked, but its full Arts list is not complete. The Arts still needed for the full set are Monado Eater and Armour.

Overall, this is an amazing scene that cues in so many hints on to many things going on behind the scenes and many things to come.
6. After going into Agniratha and meeting Egil, he reveals his overarching plan to defeat the Bionis. What is it?

Answer: Cut its food supply - the lifeforms of Bionis

He explicitly states this which incites surprise from the Shulk and co. The fact that the lifeforms of Bionis are its food is also a plot device that directs many issues a little later in the game.

Killing Shulk wouldn't do anything, as that would just release Zanza himself and awaken the Bionis anyway.

Egil also specifically cuts out Meyneth out of his plans as well, since she does not want to fight.
7. While the party fights in Mechonis Core, we see another series of incredible, cinematic scenes. Which does not occur?

Answer: Melia & co. find out about the Telethia gene

This happens afterwards when the party is on airship Junks. However, before this, while the party is still in the Mechonis Core, Zanza unleashes large ether concentrations in Alcamoth, but we don't actually see a transformation and, more importantly, aren't given any information at all about the Telethia gene.
8. When Kallian's squadron does come to Junks to save the party from Telethia, someone activates a hidden mechanism in Kallian and his squadron's air crafts. This mechanism emits high ether particles and transforms them into Telethia. Who activates this feature?

Answer: Lorithia

Although it seems Kallian's squadron evaded the ether release in Alcamoth, and Telethia transformation itself, Lorithia actually built the air crafts (havres) that Kallians and his High Entia squad used, and secretly put this mechanism in the machinery.

Dickson suggested Lorithia to activate the ether emission, but didn't do it himself. Zanza activates ether emission in Alcamoth, not here. Alvis doesn't do anything related to this topic.
9. When confronting Zanza, he offers Shulk the chance to betray his friends and become Zanza's new disciple. What's the reason Zanza gives for this?

Answer: Shulk unexpectedly lead Zanza to a another Monado

He says that Shulk is more useful than any of his other disciples (yes it's the typical case of protagonist fawning). Also, along with this, he promises Shulk power and longevity. Shulk of course says no to the offer. The main point of this question is to highlight the emergence of a new Monado.
10. Who was Alvis in the previous universe?

Answer: An administrative computer

He says that this when explaining the previous universe to Shulk. He was the main computer that Zanza used to created the Mechonis/Bionis universe. This part of the narrative is more ambiguous and forced, especially when considering why only one computer was transformed and why only Zanza and Meyneth were transformed and not the other scientists in the room.
