Answer: £30,000

An Infantryman costs £30,000 to train, the selection process costs around £7,000 while the Basic Training and Combat Infantryman Course add on another £23,000.
2. In 2006 Gay and Lesbian members of the British Armed Forces were given permission to participate in a Gay March for the first time.

Answer: True

Only the Navy were allowed to march in uniform however, members of the Army and the Royal Air Force had to march in civilian clothing.
3. The Victoria Cross is the highest award for bravery that can be awarded in the British Military, but from which war did it originate?

Answer: Crimean War

One of the more recent VCs was awarded was to Pte Johnson Beharry VC of the 1st Battalion the Princess of Wales Royal Regiment through action seen on Op Telic on 01 May 2004. His was the 1355th awarded; others will no doubt be awarded in future years.

The type 42 Destroyer employs the Navy's anti-aircraft capability whilst an Aircraft Carrier is just that and the Typhoon is actually the designation the MOD have given to the aircraft more commonly known as 'Eurofighter'.
