3. Which of the following is NOT a bridge across the River Thames in London, UK?

Answer: Golden Gate Bridge

The iconic Golden Gate Bridge is in San Francisco, California, and spans San Francisco Bay at the point where it meets the Pacific Ocean. 5. Which rather isolated commercial European airport uses a sandy beach for the only runway?

Answer: Barra, Outer Hebrides, UK

Scheduled flights to and from Barra offer connections to Glasgow International and to Benbecula Airport (on North Uist, another island of the Outer Hebrides). Since tides wash over the runway twice a day, the aircraft in service on these routes are light twin turboprops, such as the de Havilland Twin Otter.

When the tide is out, the expanse of firm sand is wide enough to allow pilots to land into the wind in almost any direction.

Answer: Harley-Davidson

The first generation F-150 rolled off the production lines in 1948. It was America's best-selling truck for 33 straight years. In 2009, a variation appeared with seats crafted from Harley bike leather and with an exhaust system tuned to mimic a Harley's.

7. Which Democratic-Republican US President, in office from 1809 to 1817, was only 5ft 4in tall?

Answer: James Madison

James Madison was only 5ft 4in (163 cm) tall and was reported to have never weighed more than 100 pounds (45 kg). Madison's win at two elections flies in the face of statistics which suggest that voters prefer taller candidates in the presidential race.

9. To which Cabinet position did President John F. Kennedy appoint his brother Robert?

Answer: Attorney General

JFK appointed his brother Bobby, a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, as his Attorney General. He served in this position throughout the three years of his brother's presidency and nine months of President Lyndon B. Johnson's presidency. 10. He didn't keep us out of war, but who was the only U.S. President in the 20th century to have earned a Ph.D.?

Answer: Woodrow Wilson

Woodrow Wilson earned a Ph.D. in history and political science from Johns Hopkins University; he is the only one of the first 44 Presidents to hold that distinction. Wilson, a former Governor of New Jersey, was elected President in 1912, mainly to due the fact that the Republican vote was split between incumbent William Howard Taft and former President Theodore Roosevelt, who ran as a third-party candidate.

In 1916, he ran for reelection under the slogan "He Kept Us Out of War," and won by the narrowest of margins over Republican Charles Evans Hughes. Almost as soon as he was reelected, he asked Congress to declare war on Germany. Late in 1919, Wilson suffered a serious stroke, and was incapacitated for the remainder of his second term in office.

He died in 1924.
