Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which gaming console was advertised with the catchphrase "Fun anyone?"?

Answer: PlayStation 2

Who can forget that PlayStation 2 advertisement? People flocking through the streets, literally clambering upon one another to build a huge people mountain reaching up into the sky. And, for a few moments, the person at the very top holding their hands up in triumph, only to fall down and be succeeded by the next person. Ah, what fun that would be.
2. "A ____ a day helps you work, rest and play." So goes the slogan of a popular chocolate bar, but which one goes in the blank?

Answer: Mars

Mars bars - the delicious chocolate treat. It has that great Mars taste, and all the goodness of Mars - milk, sugar, glucose and thick, thick chocolate! The slogan is still popular today. Mmmmm, anyone hungry?
3. "The power to be your best" was the slogan used in the advertisement for which technology corporation?

Answer: Apple

This memorable advertisement starts with "Think of all the power on this earth", and then shows quick shots of various natural wonders and people. But the most important power is...you guessed it, the power to learn.
4. "Don't leave home without it." Which credit card shouldn't we leave home without, according to the advertisement?

Answer: American Express

The first American Express advertisement went to air in 1975, featuring Karl Malden, an Oscar-winning actor. From then, the slogan has been highly successful for the company.
5. "The best tyres in the world have ________ written all over them." Cast your mind back and fill in the blank.

Answer: Goodyear

I was browsing through various advertisements that had been uploaded onto a video site, and happened upon a Goodyear tyre advert from the '60s. "When there's no man around, Goodyear should be." The advertisement showed a car driving over a metal spike, but thanks to the Double Eagle technology, there was a 'tyre inside the tyre', the car carried on safely.
6. Which car manufacturer describes their cars as "The Ultimate Driving Machines"?

Answer: BMW

Another slogan started in 1975, BMW has seen massive sales success since the introduction of this slogan. Sales have jumped from 15007 units in 1974 to 266200 units in 2005.
7. "Let your fingers do the walking" was the slogan for which telephone directory?

Answer: Yellow Pages

The Yellow Pages in Australia has had its fair share of advertisements. Perhaps one of the most memorable, and most quoted, is the "Not Happy, Jan!" catchphrase. A businesswoman opens a copy of the Yellow Pages, and leafs through, but cannot find her advertisement.

She calls out for Jan, her assistant, and asks where her advertisement is in the directory. Jan turns around and runs out the building, after which the businesswoman opens the window and yells "Not happy, Jan!" as Jan runs down the street.
8. Which Kellogg's cereal was advertised by a tiger with the catchphrase "They're grrreat!"?

Answer: Frosted Flakes

Tony the Tiger was the mascot for the Kellogg's cereal Frosted Flakes (or Frosties). Tony is quite an old character, dating back to 1952, when he first appeared on television. The memorable deep bass voice behind Tony the Tiger belonged to Thurl Ravenscroft.
9. Which fast-food chain was "Finger Lickin' Good"?

Answer: KFC

The famous 11 secret herbs and spices are what make KFC's chicken "finger lickin' good". The image of Colonel Sanders, the founder of KFC, remains the key symbol of the fast food chain. The slogan, however, has varied.
10. Which cosmetics giant ends its advertisements with "Because you're worth it."?

Answer: L'Oreal

Known the world over, L'Oreal has been on our screens for many years promoting their latest beauty products, with the aid of numerous celebrities. The slogan "Because you're worth it" is heard at the end of the advertisements (although it has recently been changed from "Because I'm worth it").
