The FA Cup is officially known as The Football Association Challenge Cup which is an annual knockout cup in English football. It was first contested in 1871-72. The Melbourne Cup is an annual 3200-metre thoroughbred horse race for three-year-olds and over and was first run in 1861.

The annual AFL (Australian Football League) Grand Final is the final game of the Australian Rules football season which is usually contested in the last Saturday in September. Traditionally held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), attracting crowds close to 100,000, it was first contested in 1898.

The Goodall Cup is a annually awarded trophy to the playoff winners of the Australian Ice Hockey League. The trophy was first awarded in 1911.
