Word Wizard's sense of humor still going strong as well as a penchant for repeating the letter I My last eight letters I I M C E I I I come on; give me a break... Reply #182. Aug 19 20, 8:36 PM |

I I M C E I I I is a little known subdialect of Roman numeral which means, almost literally, two in the afternoon of the third day after you earn your Masters of Civil Engineering degree ... really. Reply #183. Aug 20 20, 5:09 PM |

And who would have thought? My next I last hour was followed by....another I. Remarkable; does anyone want to bet me what my next letter will be? If we assume scrabble distribution holds it should be about 15 to one; anyone want to offer me 14 to 1? Reply #184. Aug 23 20, 2:02 PM |

I got this one a bit ago: "launch: to smoothen the surface of" The online OED doesn't have that definition for "launch" Does anybody know to what language that definition of launch might apply? If that unlikely scenario is applicable, why wasn't the definition in the same language?! Reply #185. Aug 27 20, 11:21 PM |

Word Wizard does not use the OED as its database. That has been mentioned repeatedly. I found two places on the Internet that listed launch used as a verb to mean smoothen. Oddly, neither of those was the database used by Word Wizard (or Mind Melt that uses the same database). What database does Word Wizard use? Why you read that information yourself. You read and swore you would abide by what was in it when you signed up to use this site. Reply #186. Aug 28 20, 12:11 AM |

I currently have 3 Q's in my list of useless letters. I don't have any U's right now either. Reply #187. Oct 17 20, 8:47 AM |

Of course not, as a U is almost always required, the Wizard will not give one. I've only had Q and U once in 11 years. Reply #188. Oct 17 20, 10:29 AM |

It's easy to get a U in the Word Wizard mini game. Use the letter trade feature to get rid of the all the Qs. The next letter you win will be a U. Reply #189. Oct 17 20, 4:04 PM |

Nice! You know when you have 12 letters and are trying to make one with 11, sold maybe a Q and a K to get an A, but you got an E, so annoying. Sometimes I wish I can sell even 3 letters to demand for 1. Reply #190. Oct 18 20, 4:14 PM |

I have a problem with Word Wizard and hopefully someone can help me. I have played in more than six games and I'm being told that I need to play in that amount, either five or six, in order to be in the monthly ranking. So, I reached out to a few people, and they told me to post the question here. Can someone help me figure this out? Thanks! Reply #191. Oct 18 20, 4:48 PM |

The minimum number of games to play to be listed on the monthly rankings is six games. However, as the month goes on, you might need to play more games to make the list. The list gives out rankings based on the top 500 players. If you haven't played enough games during the month to make that list you won't see your name. Reply #192. Oct 18 20, 4:54 PM |

I said I played that many, if not more! Someone else told me that they were having the same problem. Who can fix it? Reply #193. Oct 18 20, 5:05 PM |

Or MiraJane. Woops! I guess I'll let the Word Wizard thing go. There are more important things worth being concerned about. Reply #195. Oct 18 20, 5:21 PM |

Riverboat queen, sometimes my hobby is a full time job :). As the month progresses, you need to play more than six games to stay on the published rankings chart. You can check how many games you have played this month by going to the Word Wizard page and clicking or tapping on the My Results link. Count up how many games you have played this month. The lowest number of games I saw on the rankings chart was in the mid 30s. Reply #196. Oct 18 20, 9:31 PM |

Adedayo24, I used to suffer that problem continually when I was trying for the Word Weaver badge, I eventually got it with "dovetailing", and have since given up. However sometimes in such situations, you can just get very lucky, like for example, the other day my hard challenge was to score a word of exactly 9 letters; I had already realised before then if I got an "e" I could make meandered, so I decided to play one game, if I got an e I'll play it, otherwise just give up, very luckily I got the e. Just need to have a quick whinge about my rubbish letters: G C B T Z F S Q F L I am hanging on, hoping that the next two letters will be vowels, as I don't really want to swap out my L and F. Obviously I'd much rather get rid of the Q and Z! Grr! Keep your fingers crossed for me please!! 8-) Reply #198. Mar 12 21, 10:41 AM |

That looks like the letters I had about 10 days ago, only it was 2 Qs and an X. Fortunately one of the Qs and the X were at the front so I could trade them. Reply #199. Mar 12 21, 12:57 PM |

Why did it take multiple attempts to submit the word TONGUE to satisfy the requirement for the medium challenge on the Daily Challenges today? Anyone have any ideas? Reply #200. Feb 23 22, 6:06 PM |
