I'm on the worst run of my life -- well certainly this year... I'm averaging for the last week one terrible letter. A Q two Z one X and now the J every 24 hours. Just when you get a sensible base you get destroyed by one (at least) unmanageable letter. The plague of Vs continues unabated....no Ks yet but any minute now. The 5 Os didn't help either. Just played JIVE but that took my last E and my combinations of HN as sole consonants isn't so great... Reply #82. Aug 15 19, 7:07 AM |

They seem to have gotten a very good deal on Y's. Not the most useful letter, in quantity. Reply #83. Aug 18 19, 7:11 AM |

The good news for the last three days is I've avoided XQJZ. The bad news is that at least the last five words I've got have been rejected by the dictionary. It is frustrating to keep producing a valid 11-letter word and be told so often that it doesn't fit. Even if you're not being screwed by the letters themselves, the dictionary completes the task. I think that has happened to pretty much everyone everyone who plays with any regularity. Hard to make a comprehensive wordbank without holes that will eventually run into people's pet words. Sorry it hit you so hard this time though. On a side note. Please refrain from long unbroken text strings. I get it was for dramatic effect here, and it may not matter much for desktop/laptop users with full screens but on small screen devices, the screen stretching makes the chat obnoxiously hard to read. Garry, in the instructions for the game it states the following: "Valid words are those found in the FunTrivia dictionary, which includes all sorts of unusual and unexpected words. Note, however, that the FunTrivia dictionary does not include ALL plural forms or tense variations. You're going to have to get creative :)" Note the last half of the first sentence and the last sentence, please. It has been noted repeatedly that expected words are not valid. However, if you "get creative", you will find accepted words that you may not consider at first. For all those that complain this game doesn't accept words that are valid in a Scrabble game, you need to remember this is *not* Scrabble. I'm not going to give you an obvious hint if you remember that. Reply #87. Aug 19 19, 10:13 AM |

Garrybl, please don't do that. As namrewsna says, long strings of unbroken text make the screen unreadable for people using some screen set-ups, especially phones. And using all capitals letters is regarded on the internet as shouting, it's not nice. And for those reading the text as it is now and who therefore don't know what I'm talking about, I edited it. As for lamentable strings of letters, yep, I've had em. I just go to my team and cry while they share their worst string. That's the beauty of a team. Or a chat. Reply #91. Aug 20 19, 3:52 PM |

The letters have actually been getting worse. The Vs are multiplying but having fought the last one off and reduced to 7 letters back comes the Q. No U of course. Its about 300 letters since I got a sensible string (and the list of valid 11 letter words rejected by the system is close to 10). So its back to the drawing board. In a letter or two I'll have to dump all the consonants to get rid of the Q and be all vowels. Reply #92. Aug 23 19, 8:16 AM |

Still stuck in the 'get ten decent letters then a Z, get rid of it, build up to 10, get a Q, then a V' syndrome. So many Vs!! The letter mix is frustrating beyond belief. Reply #93. Aug 25 19, 8:42 AM |

I'll take one of those I's. I have 7 consonants and one E, because I just traded two consonants for a vowel. Sigh..... Reply #95. Aug 26 19, 4:31 AM |

Oh the relief. I think it was 20 days (so 200 letters ago) I made the last 11 letter word. Over that period of time the number of valid 11 letter words rejected by the system reached double figures, as did the number of QJZX. I suppose one very 25 letters is right if the structure is per the scrabble set...but it sure feels like there are more of them. Got yet another V at the wrong moment but finally drew well with 11 letters, the E for invigorated. Now back to the start. Reply #97. Aug 28 19, 8:07 AM |

I had 12 letters and had to swop 2 to try and get a better combination. Then I came up with the word 'Retiarius'. It's the term for the guy fighting a gladiator with a net - only the database didn't have the word boo hoo! Reply #99. Aug 28 19, 1:38 PM |
