Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Answer:

Key West is just 90 miles away from Cuba and is a small town but full of life and character. Duval Street is the main thoroughfare and home to cute little gift shops, taverns, and seafood restaurants. The city beloved by Ernest Hemingway even has a museum in his honor complete with many cats roaming the museum. The Ringling Museum in Sarasota is located right on the Gulf of Mexico and features incredible art by the likes of Rubens, Rembrandt, and El Greco. The Panhandle is in the northeast sector of Florida and contains the state's capital, Tallahassee. The area is a popular Spring Break destination but also features quiet little towns centered around the Choctawhatchee River, the third largest river in the state in terms of water volume discharged.

From east to west, our trip goes from Florida through Alabama, then to Mississippi and finally ends in Louisiana. Alabama is a relatively flat state but does feature some rolling big hills, the southern end of the Appalachian Mountains and Alabama's highest point, Cheaha Mountain in the Piedmont Upland area. Biloxi, Mississippi is a tourist's dream with a major casino, live entertainment, and riverboat cruises. New Orleans got the nickname, "The Big Easy" in contrast to the fast paced life in New York City, known as the "Big Apple". New Orleans has a laid-back Southern vibe up until their yearly festival of Mardi Gras. The annual event fills the major streets like Bourbon, Frenchmen and Canal. During the parade and festival, prepared floats come down the street throwing beads to the masses gathered to celebrate.
