Sanjit would talk to her whenever he could. He also gave her flowers. He helped her at the hospital with Dahra and Virtue. Lana found him annoying at first, but by the end of the book, they were very close.

Jamal was killed by the evil bugs. Albert and Dekka both came very close to dying. Albert was attacked by Lance and Turk, but Lana saved him in time. Dekka had bugs that grew inside of her, but Sam, Quinn, and Lana got them out and saved her. Edilio had the deadly flu, but survived.

Throughout the book, Astrid had been struggling with whether or not she should murder Little Pete. She thought that if she killed him the FAYZ would end. At the end, when they were at Coates and the bugs and Drake were attacking them, she threw him down to the bugs. Little Pete froze before hitting the floor and all the bugs, even the ones in town, disappeared. Little Pete disappeared too. Astrid was distraught when she found out that the FAYZ was still there.

In the last chapter, we found out that Little Pete died.
