Answer: The Hague

Having won the previous year's competition, Israel should have hosted this one. However, they felt unable to do so. At somewhat short notice The Netherlands staged the competition, which was held in the Congresgebouw in The Hague.
2. Which country won the 1980 Eurovision Song Contest?

Answer: Ireland

Ireland won the competition with its entry, "What's Another Year", sung by Johnny Logan. The song was written by Shay Healy.
3. The UK's 1980 entry was a song called "Love Enough for Two". Who sang it?

Answer: Prima Donna

Prima Donna, formed in 1980, consisted of Kate and Jane Robbins, Sally Ann Triplett, Danny Finn, Alan Coates and Lance Aston. They disbanded in 1981.

Sheila Chandra was the lead singer of the Indian/Western group Monsoon. The Style Council didn't form until 1983, and Sade didn't hit the public eye until 1982.

The Dutch Rhythm Steel and Show Band was, as far as I can determine (which isn't very far, I'm afraid!) a funk band playing dance tunes.

Sharon den Adel is a singer/composer. She was only 6 years old at the time of this competition. Herman Brood, who died in 2001, was a musician, painter and media personality. Toon Hermans, who died in 2000, was a comedian, singer and writer.
