2. McKinley Morganfield, often described as "The father of modern Chicago blues", is/was better known by which bemired pluvial nickname?

Answer: Muddy Waters

Muddy Waters was born in Mississippi in 1913, or thereabouts; there is some speculation that his given birthdate was at least a year too early. He acquired his name through his love of playing in dirty water as a child when being raised by his grandmother after his mother had died shortly after giving birth. Muddy began making a name for himself as a musician around 1940, and by the mid to late 40s was a well known and admired performer.

However the four songs for which he is best remembered "Rollin' Stone", "Hoochie Coochie Man", "Mannish Boy" and 'Got My Mojo Working" were all products of the 1950s.
