Answer: Do You Want To Know A Secret

"Do You Want To Know A Secret" was written by John Lennon but credited to Lennon/McCartney. It was track four on side two of The Beatles' 1963 UK album "Please Please Me".

It was the second of two songs sung by George Harrison on the "Please Please Me" album, the first being the Cookies song "Chains", which was written by Goffin/King.

"Do You Want To Know A Secret" was released in the U.S.A. as a single on the Vee-Jay record label and peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1964.
2. "My heart's beating rhythm/And my soul keeps a'singin' the blues".

Answer: Roll Over Beethoven

"Roll Over Beethoven" was wrtten by Chuck Berry. It was track one on side two of The Beatles' 1963 UK album "with the beatles".

It was the second of three songs sung by George Harrison on the "with the beatles" album. The other two were "Don't Bother Me", (the first song on a Beatles' album written by George Harrison) and "Devil In Her Heart" written by Richard Drapkin and originally recorded by The Donays as "Devil in His Heart" in 1961 for the Correc-Tone record label and released on the Brent record label in 1962.
3. "I don't want to kiss or hold your hand/If it's funny try and understand"

Answer: I'm Happy Just To Dance With You

"I'm Happy Just To Dance With You" was written by Lennon/McCartney. It was track four on side one of The Beatles' 1964 UK album "A Hard Day's Night".

All the songs on the "A Hard Day's Night" album are written by Lennon/McCartney. "I'm Happy Just To Dance With You" was written especially for George Harrison and it is only one of two Lennon/McCartney songs that he sings lead vocal on, the other one being "Do You Want To Know A Secret".
4. "Well they took some honey from a tree/Dressed it up and they called it me"

Answer: Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby

"Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby" was written by Carl Perkins. It was track seven on side two of The Beatles' 1964 UK album "Beatles For Sale".

There are two songs on the "Beatles For Sale" album written by Carl Perkins, "Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby", sung by George Harrison, and "Honey Don't" sung by Ringo Starr. John Lennon and Paul McCartney kept the other songs for themselves, which included songs written by Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Roy Lee Johnson and Jerry Leiber/Mike Stoller/Richard Penniman.
5. "Said you had a thing or two to tell me/How was I to know you would upset me"

Answer: I Need You

"I Need You" was written by George Harrison. It was track four on side one of The Beatles' 1965 UK album "Help!".

"I Need You" was one of two songs written and sung by George Harrison on the "Help!" album, the other song being "You Like Me Too Much". So the "Help!" album makes it five UK albums by The Beatles so far but only three songs written by George Harrison, plus the two Lennon/McCartney songs he sang the lead vocal on. Is George feeling a bit miffed by now?
6. "Had you come some other day/Then, it might not have been like this"

Answer: If I Needed Someone

"If I Needed Someone" was written by George Harrison. It was track six on side two of The Beatles' 1965 UK album "Rubber Soul".

"If I Needed Someone" was one of two songs on the album to be written and sung by George Harrison, the other being "Think For Yourself". The recording of a cover version of "If I Needed Someone" by The Hollies caused a feud between George Harrison and The Hollies.

Someone made a comment to George Harrison about The Hollies' version and he commented that The Hollies' version was rubbish and that they had spoiled the song, adding that they sounded like session men who had never met each other before. No peace and love there then.
7. "Let me tell you how it will be/There's one for you, nineteen for me"

Answer: Taxman

"Taxman" was written by George Harrison. It was track one on side one of The Beatles 1966 UK album "Revolver".

"Revolver", has in many music critics opinions, surpassed "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" as The Beatles' best album. "Taxman", "Love You To" and "I Want To Tell You" all written by George Harrison represent the first time that he had three songs on a Beatles' album.

He wrote "Taxman" in protest about the very high taxes that he and the other Beatles were paying at the time. He included in the lyrics of the song the names of the then UK Prime Minister Harold Wilson and the leader of the opposition Edward Heath.
8. "In their life, there's something lacking/What they need's a damn good whacking!"

Answer: Piggies

"Piggies" was written by George Harrison. It was track four on side two of The Beatles' 1968 double album "The Beatles" (The White Album).

"Piggies" is an orwellion satire on the consumerism and class distinction in the UK at the time. Not only did John Lennon (piggie grunts) and record peoducer Chris Thomas (harpsicord) contribute to the song, but George's mother, Louise, wrote the line "What they need's a damn good whacking". How wonderful that rock star and key member of the world's greatest group got help from his mum with a song.
9. "Somewhere in her smile she knows/That I don't need no other lover"

Answer: Something

"Something" was written by George Harrison. It was track two on side one on The Beatles' 1969 UK album "Abbey Road".

George Harrison seems to have come of age as far as song writing goes on the "Abbey Road" album. "Something" was John Lennon's favourite song from the album and Paul McCartney felt that "Something" was the best song that George Harrison had written. Even Frank Sinatra thought it was the greatest love song ever written but mistakenly thought it was written by Lennon/McCartney. Another George Harrison song on the "Abbey Road" album was the equally very popular "Here Comes The Sun".
10. "I've loved you from the moment, I saw you/You looked at me that's all you had to do "

Answer: For You Blue

"For You Blue" was written by George Harrison. It was track four on side two of The Beatles 1970 UK album "Let It Be".

"For You Blue" was written as a love song to George Harrison's wife at the time, Pattie Boyd. It was also the B-Side of The Beatles' single "The Long And Winding Road" which was not released as a single in the UK.

During rehearsals at the Twickenham Film Studios in south-west London, in January 1969, George Harrison walked out. He was not happy that his compositions "All Things Must Pass", "Let It Down" and "Hear Me Lord" had not received much enthusiasm from John Lennon and Paul McCartney. He was also upset with Paul McCartney's overbearing attitude over a planned concert.
