Please pay attention to the selection criterion. The song writing must be accredited to Lennon-McCartney. So if Paul wrote the song but it's listed as a Lennon-McCartney composition, it's 'in'.

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Answer:

According to a David Sheff interview with John Lennon, not long before his untimely death in 1980, he and Paul McCartney agreed to share the writing credits when they were only fifteen or sixteen years old, although the specific date is not known (believed to be in 1957). From October 1962 until the demise of the Beatles in 1970, the prolific pair were credited with writing over 180 songs.

From the list of Lennon-McCartney songs in this quiz, the three songs that gained success for other artists were:

"I'll Keep You Satisfied" was recorded by Billy Kramer and The Dakotas at the Abbey Road Studios in October 1963 with Lennon reportedly present during the session. The song reached number four in the UK charts and number 30 in the USA.

The Lennon-McCartney composition "A World Without Love" was recorded and released by the British duo Peter and Gordon In February 1964. The song reached number one on charts in the UK and USA and several other countries around the world.

"Love of the Loved" was played early on by the Beatles but never appeared on their studio albums. Instead, it was recorded by their friend, Cilla Black, as her first single release in October 1963. It reached number 35 on the UK singles chart.

Of the non-Lennon-McCartney songs listed:

"Don't Pass Me By" was written by Ringo Starr for the Beatles' self-titled album ('The White Album') in 1968.

"Savoy Truffle", "Taxman" and "Blue Jay Way" were all written by George Harrison and appeared on 'The White Album' (1968), 'Revolver' (1966) and 'The Magical Mystery Tour' (1967) respectively.

"With a Little Luck" was a McCartney composition for Wing's sixth studio album, 'London Town'. It reached number one on several international charts in 1978.

"Instant Karma", written by John Lennon, was released by Lennon/Ono and the Plastic Ono band, almost simultaneously in early 1970 with the Beatles song "Let it Be". "Instant Karma" peaked at number three on the USA Billboard Hot 100 chart, number five on the UK Singles Chart, number two in Canada, and top ten in several other countries including Australia.
