Answer: Australian Football League

The 2008 Grand Final was the 112th annual championship game of the Australian Football League. The Hawthorn Hawks defeated Geelong to win it all, and Luke Hodge of Hawthorn was presented the Norm Smith Medal.

2. OLYMPICS: Which country won the most gold medals during the Rio Games in 2016?

Answer: United States

The U.S. won 46 gold medals, runner up Great Britain had 27. China was third with 26 and Russia closed out the top four with 19. Host Brazil had 7.

The U.S. had the most silver (37) and bronze (38) to easily win the medal count with 121. China was second with 70 total medals. Great Britain had 67 and Russia had 56.

Answer: Jack Nicklaus

Jack earned the nickname in college at Ohio State. He came from Upper Arlington whose mascots are the Golden Bears. Norman is the Great White Shark, Woods is known as Tiger and Johnny Weismuller is best known as Tarzan, to round out the jungle.

Kobe Bryant is a well known American basketball player. His father, Joe Bryant, was also a professional basketball player and later on coached various teams. Kobe was named after the Kobe beef - a particular type of beef derived from the Wagyu cattle bred in the Hyogo Prefecture in Japan. Kobe Bryant has the middle name of Bean which was taken from his father's nickname of "Jellybean".

The Masters, the first Grand Slam open played each calendar year, was established in 1934 in Augusta, Georgia. The Masters may be best remembered for the winner being given a green jacket which has been awarded since 1949.

Bobby Pearce went on to win the gold in the single sculls at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics and won the gold again at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics. He also had success at the Empire Games and in the Diamond Sculls at the Henley Royal Regatta before turning professional and becoming the World Professional Sculling Champion. Pearce spent his later years as a resident of Canada.
