Answer: 1881

They were initially known as Glyn Cricket Club, and changed their name to Eagles FootballClub in 1886. In 1888 they adopted the name Orient, and a year later changed their name again, to Clapton Orient. They became Leyton Orient in 1946.
(They used the name Orient, without an adjective, for 21 years from 1966 to 1987).
2. Who was the Chairman prior to Barry Hearn?

Answer: Tony Wood

Tony Wood OBE had no choice but to sell the club in 1995 after losing his coffee growing business during the Rwandan civil war. He sold it for a five pounds to Barry Hearm. There was a tv documentary about the club in the mid-1990s entitled, "Orient: Club for a Fiver".
3. On 28th December 1997, The O's equalled their record winning margin for a league match, when they beat Doncaster Rovers. What was the score?

They played at Glyn Road between 1884-1896 before moving to Whittle Athletic Ground. From there they moved to Millfields Road in 1900, Lea Bridge Road in 1930, and Brisbane Road in 1937.

Answer: 1962-63

They finshed in 22nd, and last, place. It was still their one and only season of top flight football when the First Division left the Football League in 1992, to form the FA Premier League. They spent four seasons in Division Four of the Football League from the mid to late 1980s.
