2.18 "Dave" Trivia Quiz

The episode began with Hurley running down the beach with Libby as she was telling him how good exercise was for people and it got addictive. Hurley started to pant and he told Libby how he could see how it was addictive. Hurley sadly said he needed to drop a few pounds but Libby encouraged him to not be so hard on himself since some people's metabolisms were slower.

Answer: He got rid of it

Hurley showed Libby a stash of all the junk food he found in the hatch and how he wanted to give it away but he could not due to his cravings. Libby said he should get rid of it and how, if he wanted to change the way he lived, to just make that change. Hurley took her advice and dumped all the junk food onto the ground and he thanked Libby for helping him.

As Libby and Hurley embraced, they nearly started to kiss until they saw many of the survivors start to run. Libby asked Sun what they were all running for and Sun just replied how they ("they" is assumed in this context to refer to Locke and Jack) had found something and they were going to see what it was. Libby and Hurley started to run towards where the other survivors did and they all noticed junk food there.

Answer: James "Sawyer" Ford

All the survivors, save for Libby and Hurley, were ecstatic to see the junk food at the site. They all started to speculate as to where it came from and some believed it meant that another plane with the snack foods was on the island. Charlie asked Sawyer if he saw a plane and Sawyer responded by calling him "Tattoo" and saying how he did see a plane.

Answer: Evan Handler

Handler, born on January 10th, 1961 in New York City guest starred as Dave in this episode. Dave appeared in flashbacks where we learned how he was Hurley's imaginary friend when he received treatment at a mental hospital. Handler guest starred as Dave in just this episode for the first five seasons of this show. He also guest starred in the TV series', "CSI: Miami", "Shark", and "24."

In Locke's first scene, he lied down on a bed resting up his leg which had been injured in the previous episode and we saw Jack and Kate tending to him. Jack advised Locke to take it easy with his leg but Locke soon started to talk about Ben. Locke informed Jack how Ben could have easily escaped from the hatch during lockdown but he came back for him. Locke hoped this would persuade Jack to release Ben but it did not change Jack's mind to let Ben go.

Answer: Sayid Jarrah

In the previous episode, Sayid told Ben how he went to the site of where Ben's balloon crashed and noticed a grave there. He believed the grave had Ben's deceased wife in it but instead it was the body of a man and there was an identification card which read "Henry Gale." In this episode, Ben told both Ana Lucia and Sayid about the real Henry Gale, who he claimed was already dead when he found him with his search party.

Answer: Charlie Pace

In Mr. Eko's first scene, he was building some new shelter and Charlie came along, offered him some wood, and told him he felt he could use it. Mr. Eko thanked Charlie and told him that perhaps he could help him finish building his shelter. Charlie agreed to help him finish the job.

Answer: Connect Four

Halfway through the episode, there was a flashback where Hurley and Dave were at the mental ward playing some Connect Four with another patient. Dave leaned over and spoke quietly to Hurley about escaping the ward but Hurley said he did not want to do it. Dr. Brooks, Hurley's doctor, came by and snapped a picture of Dave and Hurley to show Hurley later on how Dave was not in the picture since he was not real.

Answer: Jin Kwon

In one scene, Hurley was with Sawyer and Sawyer started to taunt and tease him about his weight, which upset Hurley. Hurley attacked Sawyer and Jin was standing nearby with Sun. She asked Jin to go over and break up the right, which he did. Sawyer yelled to Hurley how he was crazy but Hurley assured himself he was not crazy. Later on, Libby went to Hurley to ask him to tell her about the fight, which Hurley refused to discuss with her.
