2.9 "What Kate Did" Trivia Quiz

Sawyer was still recuperating from his gunshot wound and the very first character we saw with him in this episode was Jack. Sawyer started to wake up and he asked Jack where Kate was. Jack informed him how Kate had watched over him for almost 24 hours and that he sent her out to get some food.

Since Jack instructed Kate to go get some food, Kate decided to go look for some fruit. In her first scene, Kate was seen climbing a tree to get pears and she picked a number of them to put in her sack. As she started to climb down the tree, many of the pears fell out of her sack.

Kate was featured in most of the flashbacks for this episode and it was her first one that we met who Kate believed was her stepfather, Wayne. He happened to be an alcoholic and he came home one night, inebriated, and he made some snide comments towards Kate.

She decided to get on her motorcycle and go someplace else and, as she rode away on her motorcycle, her house exploded and her stepfather died. Later on in this episode, Kate's mother revealed that Wayne was actually her biological mother.

The survivors of Oceanic 815 decided to hold a memorial for Shannon to celebrate her life before they buried her somewhere on the island. This was first mentioned when Jack and Kate were watching over Sawyer and Jack told her to go down to the beach for the memorial. Kate insisted that Jack go instead of her due to how close h was to Shannon.

When we first saw Ana, she was down by the beach doing some digging and Mr. Eko came up to talk to her. Mr. Eko spoke to her about Shannon's memorial being that day and Ana told him she felt it would be best if she not go, considering how she shot her. Mr. Eko told her it was likely how the rest of the survivors realized the shooting was an accident but Ana still refused to go.

Jack left Kate in charge of taking care of Sawyer while he went down to the beach to attend Shannon's memorial. Kate decided to feed Sawyer some of the peaches she got him and, while she prepared his lunch, she put on a Patsy Cline record. When Sawyer awoke, he grabbed Kate and said, in a deluded state, how she killed him.

When Jack went back to the hatch to go see Sawyer and Kate, he noticed how the alarm went off, which meant the timer was ticking down and needed to be reset. However, he decided to look for Sawyer and Kate while Locke, who was there, reset the timer. Jack found Sawyer but Kate was nowhere to be seen.

After Jack asked Sawyer where Kate was, the next scene showed Kate walking through the jungle and Charlie found her. He told Kate how a few of the "new" people were at Shannon's memorial. As they started to talk, Kate asked Charlie if he saw any horses on the island since that was what she saw. Charlie mentioned how he saw polar bears but not horses.

Earlier in season one, Jin got into a fight with another survivor and, to restrain him, he was handcuffed. Once the handcuffs were released, one of the two bracelets was still attached to his hand. John managed to get the other cuff off and, when he did, the first person Jin showed the cuff to was Michael.

Kate had a talk with Sayid since she wanted to get more input and advice regarding her seeing horses on the island. She asked Sayid if he believed in ghosts and Sayid responded how he saw Walt right before Ana Lucia shot Shannon. Sayid speculated to Kate that perhaps he was crazy if what he saw was actually a figment of his imagination.
