During the opening credits, Josh saw Leo and asked him if he had heard about the two Native Americans who paid the White House a visit in their lobby. Leo jokingly asked if it was true that one of them wanted to become a rabbi. Josh assured him it was no joke and that the Native Americans were there at that moment.

Leo spoke to Josh about a case down in Georgia where a young man shot his teacher dead and then fled to Rome, Italy. Leo told him about how they wanted to get the young man in custody but that Italy would not extradite someone back to a country which still practiced the death penalty. Toby was reading the newspaper in his office when he noticed Sam outside and he invited him in to talk. Sam mentioned to him that the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) would be making a statement on Monday about a new formula they came up with for calculating the poverty level. Toby asked if it would need presidential approval before it went to Congress and Sam replied that approval was required.

President Bartlet was speaking to Leo about cooking Thanksgiving turkeys when Charlie told him there was some polling data that had arrived for him so President Bartlet then went to go talk with Charlie. He mentioned to Charlie how he believed there should be a hotline about cooking Thanksgiving turkeys so Charlie reminded him that there was such a hotline. President Bartlet asked him what he meant so Charlie told him about the Butterball Hot Line.

C.J. realized that the Native Americans who visited the White House lobby brought the press along so she knew she could not ignore them. She asked her assistant if the Assistant Secretary of Indian Affairs was available at that time but her assistant said he was not in the White House at the moment. C.J. then asked about the Director of Intergovernmental Affairs but he, too, was gone for the day. C.J.'s assistant finally told her that nobody was at the White House to assist the Native Americans.

Josh was going to meet with the District Attorney of DeKalb County in Georgia to discuss the incident with the young man shooting his teacher and he informed Donna to cancel his flight to Boca Raton. He said it would be better if he flew into Atlanta and then had a layover there. Josh then asked Donna to call his mother and tell her he would be late but Donna told him it would be better if he contacted her.

While Josh eventually went to Boca Raton, he did initially tell Donna to cancel his flight there.
