The thousandth landing is a great feat for the pilots of the Twelve Colonies. When Flattop had landed his thousandth time, several others cheered him on in celebrations. Unfortunately, due to a fatigued equipment failure, a drone fell loose from storage, activated, and hit Flattop's cart, killing him and many other pilots.

Answer: Kara had passed Zac through basic flight even though he wasn't ready.

We found out earlier in the show that Kara had failed Zac and that the only reason she had passed him was because they were seeing each other. She admitted to Lee this truth, but did not tell Commander Adama. Kara accepted the responsibility thrown upon her with the added pressure of not passing anyone who wasn't ready. "Just give them the attention and the professionalism that you gave my son, and they'll be [a great] squadron," Adama told her, unaware of the irony.

Answer: She left the game.

After Baltar remarked, "Maybe you'd like to take a break?", Kara threw down her cards and walked out of the room. Boomer gleefully grabbed the cubits she and her ECO had bet, and Crashdown complained that she couldn't just walk away from the game. Boomer replied, "She can, and she did," and gave the cubit's a kiss.

Answer: a small bunker filled with numerous supplies

The signal brought Sharon to a bookcase, which she tossed over. (An interesting side note: the observant watcher will see that the books on this shelf do have corners, something that Colonial books don't have. A small inconsistency.) They discovered a bomb shelter complete with food, water, medical supplies, and a Colonial distress beacon with an enormous power supply of batteries.

"Oh, gods. You're one of those," Cottle said. He was of the opinion that Chamalla doesn't have any health benefits and that Roslin's request was nothing more than a pipe dream. When their conversation over her options was through, Cottle said ,"For what it's worth, I would seriously consider prayer," playing solemnly on one of his earlier statements about alternative treatment.

Starbuck addressed the cadet (we learn his name is Costanza) and he replied, calling her the title she had earlier told them: God. When the cadet learned of his new call sign, he was disappointed with the unappealing name and hung his head.

It was an emotional moment for the two; they had been like father and daughter for several years, and Adama had never known the truth of how Zac had died. When Starbuck finally told him that she had passed his son without him being ready, Adama grew livid and told her to "do her job", a reference to what she had not done with Zac.

The raiders showed up without a baseship present leading the crew to believe it was some sort of reconnaissance group. It had been some time since the fleet had been encountered by the Cylons, so when the Raiders showed themselves, Tigh commented, "It was only a matter of time before they found us."

Disobeying her orders, Hot Dog turned his Viper around to help Starbuck take on the group of eight Raiders. He told Starbuck that he was never supposed to leave his leader, like she had told him. He destroyed one of the Raiders before his Viper was damaged. Starbuck destroyed the remaining enemy fighters save for one, which gave her a bit of a problem.

Answer: The last Raider rammed her Viper and sent it out of control.

After spiraling out of control in the short scenes, we finally found out that Starbuck had been rammed by the last Raider. The red moon's atmosphere was too much for her uncontrolled spinning, and she ejected, floating downward toward the its surface. At the very end, we see the ominous "to be continued".
