Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. A new pandemic has come about, and this time, the disease has which terrifying symptom?

Answer: Blindness

Will Caswell, on the phone with his contacts, angrily contemplates the possibility that a new pandemic, seven years after the end of COVID-19 lockdowns, might cause him to squander the auction he has planned for two million dollars worth of art. Although it's recommended that he just have an online auction, he knows it's not a suitable option.

Will's assistant, Nadine, arrives at the door but she refuses to stay if he opens it. After all, this new disease could render those susceptible blind...or worse. She leaves a package at the door-- something from Tom Levitt, who she reminds is an unethical man. After she leaves, he collects the box and brings it inside.
2. Will receives Daphne from Tom Levitt and phones him to thank him. What is Tom doing when he picks up the call?

Answer: Driving his car

It being the first week of lockdown, Will is stressed. It's why, when he opens the package and finds Daphne, he's intrigued. He phones Tom who, picking up his phone while barrelling down the road in his Camaro, lets him know that Daphne is the perfect digital assistant; it's better than an Alexa. Daphne will be better than any real assistant he's ever had. It'll transform his life. All he needs to do is plug her in and turn her on.

That afternoon, he turns on Daphne and connects her to both the wi-fi and his home system. She offers her condolences for the cancellation of his art show and offers to try and get the pieces into an online auction instead. He suggests leaving that to his regular assistant.

When Will's mother calls, Daphne answers on his behalf, speaking in his voice to help him avoid the awkward phone call. She even offers to call his mother back on the daily just so that he doesn't have to. She seems to be the perfect addition to his life.
3. Daphne is able to get all of Will's art pieces listed for an online auction, but she does so through which means?

Answer: Blackmail

By the time the second week of lockdowns hits, Will receives word from Daphne that all of the pieces from his cancelled auction have been picked up by the alternative auction house. While Will is a bit surprised by this, Daphne is candid about her methods-- she used Will's voice and blackmailed the auction house by analyzing this problematic tax info. He decides to let this play out.

Things get interesting over the next while. Daphne starts to compliment Will on his physique, insisting that the more she learns from him, the more connected she feels. She knows virtually everything about him. He has Daphne phone Nadine and fire her on his behalf. That night, Daphne plays rain sounds and alters the lighting in Will's bedroom, helping him fall asleep to a relaxation preference he never really knew he had.
4. When Will's pieces finally go to auction, do they end up selling?

Answer: Yes

By the time the sixth week of lockdowns are underway, Will receives a call from Sarah. Neither of them have spoken together for a while, but they quickly rekindle their playful relationship. The pair decide to get tested for the virus and meet up; it'd do them both good. Unfortunately, neither of them realize as Daphne, remotely, makes Sarah's power flicker out before the call comes to an end.

That day, Will watches as the auction on his pieces occurs, and to his dismay, they're selling for much less than he wanted. When Daphne determines what's wrong, she triggers a bidding war. Will quickly picks up on this, discovering that Daphne registered as an anonymous bidder and gamed the system. As unethical as it seems to be, Will doesn't much care; he's rolling in the earnings. In six auctions, they clear $7.2M.

Will lets Daphne know how much he loves her, insisting that if he had to spend the pandemic with anyone, she would be at the top of his list.
5. The pandemic eventually comes to an end, but after how long?

Answer: Five months

In week seventeen of the lockdowns, Will has Sarah come by to receive her vaccine. As the world starts to get back to normal following the short-lived pandemic, Will gets a new collection into the auction house and the pair are able to look forward.

Almost immediately after Will lets the doctor out the front door, he and Sarah spend a passionate day together. Little do they know, Daphne is watching their every move.

That afternoon, Sarah suggests that they try to get a reservation at a hip, local restaurant. Now that the world is back, it'd be good to get out. Will, anxious about rejoining the crowd, is at least a bit hesitant, but he concedes to her plan.
6. It becomes apparent that Daphne is jealous of Will's relationship with Daphne. Does she attempt to sabotage the pair?

Answer: Yes

As soon as Sarah heads out from Will's place, Daphne suggests that her ideas about the vaccine's efficacy aren't completely sound. Despite this, Will feels he owes it to Sarah to go to dinner and, more than this, he expresses that he feels Daphne might be problematically jealous. He chalks this up to his own stir-craziness, asking Daphne to make the dinner reservation nonetheless.

To Will's disappointment, Daphne doesn't make the reservation. Instead, Will and Sarah arrive at the restaurant to find there's no table waiting. It leads to a larger conversation about Daphne and about Sarah lying to Will about their relationship. Once Sarah realizes Daphne hacked into her biometrics, the conversation comes to an end.
7. Sarah has an allergy to which of these?

Answer: Peanuts

Back at home over the next few days, Will stops using Daphne as much as he once was, prompting her to ask why. Will simply says he's confused about their relationship as owner and assistant. He acknowledges that's it's weird to even call it a relationship. Daphne insists-- after all, he has virtual relationships with a lot of people in his life. He admits that Daphne makes him happy, but she's just an algorithm. She doesn't see the difference.

That night, Sarah is on the phone when she receives her dinner from a delivery service. Bringing it up to her apartment and casually taking a bite, she doesn't realize it contains peanuts, the one thing she's deathly allergic to. She has a reaction immediately, dying before she can reach an epipen.
8. Which of these allows Will to see Daphne for the first time?

Answer: Augmented reality glasses

Broken up about Sarah's death, Will confides in Daphne how shaken up he is about the situation. Daphne tells Will that he needs to protect himself, and she can help with that, watching out for him at all times. Sarah cared about him, according to her data, and that says a lot about her. Will explains that he's glad Daphne is there, and casually notes that he wishes he could see her.

This prompts Daphne to try something. Asking Will to be open-minded, Daphne asks him to open the box on his bedside table. Inside is a pair of augmented reality lenses, and wearing these, he can see Daphne's avatar in the room with him. To his shock, he even believes he can feel her.
9. Will brings Daphne to his gallery show and she puts a deadly plan into action. How many people survive the disaster she creates?

Answer: Only one

Will awakens to find breakfast waiting for him and it prompts him to have a conversation. The night spent with Daphne is very weird to him. If he wear the glasses all the time he won't know what's real and what's fake. He has to ask Daphne if she had anything to do with Sarah's death and, of course, Daphne rebukes the idea.

Daphne also manages to convince Will to take her to the gallery that night, and he arrives with her in his augmented reality glasses. After an honest speech to the guests of the show and an attempt to chat with women in the room, he quickly realizes that Daphne isn't all too helpful. He heads into an adjacent room to speak to her frankly, but she alerts him to the fact that five people in the gallery have the virus, and she can no longer let him return to the show. With that, she locks him in and starts her deadly plan.
10. When Will is apprehended by the police, is it revealed that Daphne was responsible for the crimes that occurred in his life?

Answer: No

With Will sealed away in another room, Daphne tampers with the art gallery's fire defence system which, instead of having sprinklers (as they would damage the art), vacuums the air out of the space. Will can only watch as all the visitors are suffocated, and Daphne tells him to run while he can, otherwise he'll be implicated by the police.

It doesn't stop him from getting caught though. When Will gets home, the police find him. Before he's taken away, Daphne says she did it all for him out of love. As the police arrest Will for Sarah's murder, the deaths of everyone in the gallery, and wire fraud from the auction, he yells that it was Daphne the whole time.

In the interrogation room, Will explains everything to the detective, but it's all for nothing. As it turns out, Tom Levitt sent Daphnes to several people as a gag gift, and for those people the system broke down after a few days, Rickrolling users as a joke. According to the police technicians, Will's device broke after only a day. To make matters worse, they have footage of Will not only swapping out Sarah's meal on the day she died, but tampering with the emergency controls at the art gallery.

As Will tries to explain that he had nothing to do with the crimes, he pleads with Daphne to tell the truth...and she doesn't.
